    UH wants to be in a P5 conference. Basketball alone won't get you in - see UConn and Memphis. Football has to be relevant.

    Yeah, but trying to compete against A&M, UT and LSU in football popularity for this area I feel like is not happening any time soon. Better odds of becoming a consistent March tournament team than breaking into a football playoff game.

    The Cougars have done two things well, we've been ahead of the curve offensively in almost every decade. Second, we've always has track level speed. The first may have worn out it's welcome with the advent of mass media. Hard to stay ahead of the game and remain innovative. but we likely will always have the second. So that's the pipeline you establish. It works here. And you build an offense around that.
