Michael Vick: I'm ready to take reins as Eagles' starter again
    01:45 PM

Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick said he's anxious to get started again as the team's starter and also respectful of the process that resulted in head coach Andy Reid handing him the keys to the team again on Sunday.

Reid said that Vick, out the last three weeks with a rib injury, would be the Eagles' starter when they return from a bye in two weeks. Vick is winning the job back from Kevin Kolb, who led the Eagles to a 2-1 mark during his absence.

"It's a huge responsibility, anytime you're a starting quarterback in the NFL," Vick told the NFL Network. "The thing is, you have to make sure you're being held accountable and doing all the things it takes to win football game. You know, it's a tough league and every week it's gonna be a challenge."

Vick won the job after initially replacing an injured Kolb, who started in Week 1. Vick has six TD passes and no INTs this season, while Kolb has six TD passes and four INTs.

Kolb said he was disappointed to lose his grip on the starting job, but both QBs have said they are remaining friends and supporting each other throughout.

"It's helped both of us because we can compete and be friends at the same time, and it's not like you're competing against a guy you don't have a relationship with or can't talk to, that puts more pressure on the situation," Vick told the NFL Network.

"Naturally, we developed a friendship -- we like fishing, we like a lot of the same things, we roomed together in camp and we had a great offseason together. We're just rooting for one another."

    -- Sean Leahy

The idea of Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb going fishing together blows my mind.

Kolb kills hogs, Vick kills dogs. They have quite a bit in common.

Texans vs Eagles on NFL network Dec 2nd in Philly (Thursday Night)

should be a fantasy football bonanza if Vick is still the QB.

Fantasy points per game (Yahoo! standard scoring):

    Kolb - 22.67
    Vick - 22.25

Vick only played like one quarter versus the Skins so point per game is a little misleading.

Kolb only played a little over one quarter against the Packers, so it's virtually the same.

No he didn't. Kolb left at halftime versus the Packers. Vick was the best fantasy QB before he got hurt.

Too bad Jeremy Maclin's average is a lot better than what he produced yesterday. Friggin Slacker.

Anyhoo I think what he meant was there will be a lot of fantasy points scored that game between Vick, McCoy, Maclin, Johnson, Schaub, and Foster.

    OK great.

    Fantasy points per quarters played:

    Kolb: 4
    Vick: 5.93

edit: I dun goofed my math. Didn't factor in this week's game.

Vick has an edge, but then again, he faced the Lions and the Jags to put up the majority of his points (bottom 7 defenses), soooo I'm a little skeptical he's leaps and bounds better.

It's all good. In my opinion, Vick the better fantasy QB, real-life QB, etc. Kolb is decent but the Vick that we saw earlier this year is just at a totally different level.

You don't lose your starting job due to injury...nothing wrong with it. But now the pressure is on Vick to perform because Kolb has shown his ability to lead the team to win games.

Kolb's lack of arm strength showed yesterday a few times.
