I didn't want him traded at all so the Yanks could pick him up in FA, but I think the rotation next season is actually looking pretty decent, assuming Joba starts games instead of coming out of the pen. Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes, Mussina, Kennedy (hopefully Pettite the cheater can be moved) is not terrible.
This is what I wish the Astros would have done in the past. When you make a trade for a big name, make sure you can sign him.
as a twins fan, it really sucks that the twins finally got some solid stars and then had to choose which ones of them to keep and which ones will have to be inevitably packaged for more young talent that will one day again have to be shipped away.

a lot easier to do when it's well before the season starts than it is mid-season. the astros have generally traded for big names mid-season.
i love the yankees also, but i am glad they didnt make this trade. long term plan should work out better for the yanks. faith in phil hughes.
