    Huh, What do you mean by that last paragraph? Some guys age quicker than others, big deal. Deions career was basically over when he came to the Ravens because of his "Turf Toe". Guys that get that usually never recover.

    Deion was not only as you put it "a flashier playmaker" but also had the offensive stats to back it up. How many game winning returns did this guy have? He was as crucial to the Cowboys field position and offensive production than any other corner in history. Check out the all-purpose yards as someone else mentioned...
    By the way, in 96 he was the first guy in 35 years to start on Offense and Defense the entire season. Thats pretty damn amazing.....
    Lets start off with this....
    Games Played:
    DG=295!
    DS=188
    Defensive yardage:
    DG=621
    DS=1331!
    Defensive TD's:
    DG=6
    DS=9!
    Return stats:
    DG=611
    DS=2199!
    Total points:
    DG=48
    DS=132!
    Deion Sanders played in 108 less games than DGreen and still managed to do so much. What Deion did not do in tackles, he made up for on Offense. This is without mention of his 700+ yards recieving...

    You must take this into account and the fact that his defensive playmaking skills are higher than Green despite playing 100 less games.
    Sure, Green was a better tackler, but I think Deion's returns, cover ability,Interceptions, and Recieving ability make him a better all around player....

    To get to Deion, Darrell Green has to get past Rod Woodson first anyways ;)

    Can somenbody explain the Vice Young situation to me? I know he has been the subject of much discussions here, but why was he special, and for which team does he play? (I know nothing of the NFL) My gues is a team from houston passed hium in the draft, and he became a superstar? or am i wrong. Thanks in advance.

    Sorry, buddy. But Green is no match for Prime Time. See my post above with all the stats that matter.

    He was probably one of the 2 greatest corners I ever saw play and the greatest return man. I stopped watching football a few years ago, so I don't know about since then, but the guy was the only secondary player I saw that could take over a game. Deion definitely deserves to be on that list.

    vince young was born and raised in houston, played high school football here and went to the university of texas in austin where he led them to a national championship in one of the greatest performances in college football history. coming off that extreme high and buzz, his hometown nfl team, the houston texans had the #1 pick in the draft the following year but passed on him, depsite probably needing a quarterback. depending on who you ask of course.

    the bigger national issue is actually the texans passing on reggie bush who was the consensus # 1 pick. vince wasn't even on the radar. vince young is such a popular name around here because of the obnoxious amount of people who get off on talking about him. in other words if he didn't grow up here and partcularly if he didn't play at texas, this wouldn't be such an issue.

    as it currently stands it was a mistake to pass on him when they ended up needing a qb but it's much to early to come to that definite conclusion, particularly if mario williams(the guy they did draft) and their new qb, matt schaub, pan out. both those guys turn out to be studs, or close, and vince young is probably irrelevant. vince has trememdous poise and leadership for such a young man but it's no lock that he turns into a great nfl quarterback.

    someone else could have probably explained that better, but hope that helps.
