This game is another perfect example of why College Football is better than the NFL. How many epic upsets occur on a given Sunday in the NFL? Upsets like these are what make college football great - they allow fans to root for the underdog when normally they wouldn't have interest. Just goes to show you that any team can be beaten by another college program.

NFL is better. Upsets like this are so rare in college.

What was the point spread for this game? What are the odds that Lloyd Carr is coaching at Michigan next year?

Nah. Wisconsin will win it this year. Ohio State will probably lose 3 games. Penn St. Mich and Wisc.

This game has nothing to do with the Big Ten title. It's probably safe to say Michigan can't be in the NCAA Championship game now even if they run the table from here on.

What are the odds that Lloyd Carr will be around to coach the next game?

In college football its more how a team finishes than how it starts (though teams are scheduling more difficult non-conference oppenents it seems). This killed Michigan's title hopes but they can still get a respectable bowl

yeah it's better that they lose the first game instead of their last, they still have some big time teams up and if they can beat them they will get back into the fray

    From ESPN:

3:51 p.m.: From our friends in the ESPN Research department: Since 1978 when the NCAA began classifying I-A and I-AA, no I-AA team has ever beaten a ranked I-A team in the AP Poll. Until today when Appalachian State knocked off No. 5 Michigan.

(Note: in 1981, Baylor was ranked 20th in the preseason UPI poll and lost to I-AA Lamar, but it's never happened in the AP poll.)

Great argument for rankings shouldn't be released until midseason.

Michigan is not 5...not even top 25.
