I wouldn't agree with Mike Goldberg that 'he barely survived the first round'

What a terrible matchup. Mir stood zero chance.

Overeem would have been a more interesting matchup, no one can take JDS down and no one can stand with him.

Mir had a chance. A legit chance. But that all went out the window when the ****** showed up out of shape and abandoned his gameplan 1:20 into the fight. Typical Frank Mir...... That was the least fit I have seen Mir in 3 or 4 years. He looked fatter than he did when he beefed up to face Lesnar and Carwin.

Glad the JDS won......Like the kid and he is amazing to watch......so disappoint in Mir.......so disappoint.

No he didn't have a chance

Mediocre takedowns, Mediocre striking, suspect chin, and being slow as **** is the perfect formula for getting ktfo against Junior.

His only chance was to hope JDS slips and get on top as soon as possible and look for subs.

I guess agree to disagree then. Frank made the simple mistake of sitting right in the pocket and getting dragged into a standup war. With that....yeah.....no chance. But Frank failed to stick to his gameplan and do what he said he was going to do......clinch. Go for the takedown or keep pressure on JDS against the cage. He attempted it once and did what he always does......quit. He should have kept the pressure on JDS and closed the gap. He was gonna get punched in his fat face anyway.

To say the best submission artist in UFC HW history had zero chance is stupid. JDS is not unbeatable. Frank just quit out there.

Junior may not lose for a very long time. He has great take down defense and superb boxing skills. There may not be a heavyweight in boxing with his hand speed.

All these Dos Santos fights give me more respect for Roy Nelson. Mir and Velazquez are decked/dazed by one punch from Dos Santos and Nelson took like 50 from him in their fight and didn't go down.

Yeah its funny how clinch work goes out the window when you realize that the guy you are clinching with is faster and can drop you in a second with a vicious uppercut.

Cain with the best Ground/Pound beating I've seen in the Octagon... That was rape to the highest degree ever and Bigfoot couldn't do a damn thing.. That fight had some sexual connotation all over it...

    agreed 101%.

but the way he explained Jr's strategy, it seems like he didn't have a chance at all.
