[UFC 118] Edgar vs Penn 2

Penn finally went for a takedown.

 

Wow. That takedown. BJ better get a submission because I think he's really starting to fade/gas.

 

Wow BJ just got dropped. Still not out but I've never seen him get dropped from one bomb.

 

He looks washed up.

Really...

 

Nevermind. Was a solid leg kick. Not head shot. I don't think anyone can drop that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sized head.

wow, so far i couldnt have been more wrong with my predictions. BJ looks slow, confused, unfocus and non aggressive, but perhaps that is more a function of Edgar than it is BJ. Edgars speed and movement along with better boxing is probably the cause for BJ's confusion while they are standing. Along with the threat of the takedown, Edgar is clearly controlling the standup as well as the fight.

Perhaps even more suprising is BJ's inability to control Edgar on the ground. While BJ's takedown efforts the last two round were succesful, his inability to hold Edgar down is concerning as well as suprising.

 

Damn.

Very disappointed.

Penn is like one of those basketball players who has all the talent but his work ethic, hustle, and passion is not there.

 

Complete domination by Edgar.

 

Don't think that's fair. Edgar just beat him. There was nothing BJ could do.

 

Once it got to the 4th round, I knew it would take a miracle for BJ to win. His stamina and/or will was completely shot.

I think BJ was pretty out matched and dominated against Edgar.

 

Could he get in better shape? Yes

Could he show more passion and aggression? Yes

He doesn't utilize all of his talents imo.

 

Frankie fought well both times, got off good. Much respect. Gotta go back and think about things
