Disagree. He's amazing to watch beat up on non-strikers but there's a reason he competes in MMA and not in the best Muay Thai, Boxing, and Kickboxing Divisions.

Haha because he's an overall dynamic fighter and doesn't want to be limited to fights that can only feature one fighting discipline? There's a reason the top boxers, muay thai, and kickboxers don't always make it to the top of MMA (they aren't well rounded enough).

I hope Silva destroys Sonnen and his nonstop s**t talking

Ive never been into UFC until I just bought UFC 2009:Undisputed for the 360 last week and have really found a soft spot for the actual intricacies to the sport...will be tuning in.

From what I have seen of Silva, he is every definition of "THE MAN" I can find...and I hope he r*pes this guy hard...so hard I must hide my children, wife, and husband.

He's not good enough to compete against the best strikers. On the flip side those better strikers don't have the ground game or take down defense that he has. That said the better strikers compete where they'd make more money which is in elite boxing, muay thai, and kick boxing divisions.

It's because the top athletes in other sports get paid much better in their respected division.

I guarantee you if top MMA fighters got paid better than top boxers and kick boxers then those athletes would jump ship to MMA in a heart beat. As it stands those fighters in other sports do MMA to get one final pay check when they're well past their primes like James Toney.

Please...PLEASE name a better striker than Anderson Silva.

Have you seen any of his fights?

Who are these "strikers" you speak of?

I know now days it's "in" to disagree with everything that is mainstream, but Anderson Silva is the mother****ing man.

Nathan "Carnage" Corbett. The best pure Muay Thai Striker in the world at the moment. Here he is against Anderson Silva's Muay Thai trainer.

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zOP5urg29_o&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zOP5urg29_o&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Tyrone Spong is another that could make it in Silva's weight class that's a better striker.

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZtwXyM0I_wk&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZtwXyM0I_wk&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Plus the elite in K-1 that are better technical strikers than Silva. I didn't add them because they would outweigh him by 20 or more pounds though.

That's going to be the first full MMA event I am going to watch. Toney is one of my all-time favorite boxers.

Better check for roids in this matchup. Toney's skull looks like it's about to explode. Didn't he test positive a few times in his career? Ah well, I'd like to say "should be a good fight", but this really is a freak show that anybody can win.

Go Sonnen! Though I don't see Silva losing, I want Sonnen to beat the ego out of Silva.

I think Sonnen has a much better stand up game than Silva does.

    STAKED Card
Silva is going to destroy Sonnen... As soon as Sonnen shoots in for a double, Silva is going to knee him in the face and finish Sonnen.
The fight I'm most anxious to see is the, Big Country Dos Santos fight, now that should be a good one. Fitch vs Alves should be good to.

I wanna see Big Country fight too. People think he can't fight cause of his huge belly and they say he's beaten nobody's which is true to an extent.... but his wins are impressive nonetheless and he packs some heat in those fistacuffs.

Alves vs. Fitch will probably go the distance. If it does I think Fitch wins. If it doesn't Alves will be the victor via ko/tko.

i agree on the Fitch Alves fight, I dont think Fitch can stop him again, he kind of got lucky the first time, catching Alves with an up kick, but if he wins again, he'll most likely win by decision. Fitch has a serious chin, dude hasn't been stopped in the UFC, and GSP hit him with some bombs... I think Fitch will win it...

Nelson packs some power and his ground game is seriously underrated, dude is a black belt in BJJ. I think for him to win it, he's got to take JDS down and put his weight on him, tire him out. If the fight stays on the feet, I think its bad news for Roy.
