Didn't see a thread for this. This show looks pretty good. They're saying the production costs for this are the most expensive for any Netflix show and have surpassed Game of Thrones in that dept. already.
130M? How much does downtown abbey cost? I can understand with Game of Thrones because of CGI and big battle scenes, but 130M on a period piece seems absurd.
I'm not that interested in watching a historical fiction piece, but good ratings could set their ambitions higher and they pick up the rights to some other great fantasy or comic book series. Elizabeth now, Kingkiller/Mistborn/Stormlight/Sandman/Saga later.
I like all genres and applaud Netflix for putting a lot of resources into this. It certainly seems like too much money... from purely a business perspective... but I'm no producer. I am sure it will be top notch... whether or not I watch it, to be determined. There's just so much good tv now, sometimes even great shows I don't make it around to.
