Special counsel Jack Smith has asked the Supreme Court to decide whether Donald Trump is immune from criminal prosecution for alleged crimes he committed while he was president.

Smith emphasized the need for the Supreme Court to resolve the matter once and for all. "It is of imperative public importance that respondent's claims of immunity be resolved by this Court and that respondent's trial proceed
as promptly as possible if his claim of immunity is rejected," Smith wrote. "Respondent's claims are profoundly mistaken, as the district court held. But only this Court can definitively resolve them."

The Supreme Court has agreed to speed up consideration of Smith's request and directed Trump’s legal team to respond to the petition by Dec. 20.

if anyone is an expert on presidential immunity, it would be Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, [IMG]; 25-years ago, he wrote a a 33-page article for the Georgetown Law Journal, entitled “Separation of Powers During the Forty-Fourth Presidency and Beyond.” addressing the issue of presidential immunity.

I'm all for hearing the final word on this from SCOTUS, but I hardly think it requires an expert to know the answer to this question.

Also, I think Jack Smith would be better looking without the beard. Or, perhaps, if he let the beard grow a bit bushier than he does. As it stands now, it makes his face look long and haggard.

I'm not a fan of beards period, especially big nasty ones or stubble that looks like an unshaved homeless guy. Neck beards are really gross.
