    This is hardly a surprise that Trump will not cooperate or comply with these politically contrived, completely unhinged partisan hatched job investigations being instigated by Congressional Democrats. After all, Obama spent his final six years in office refusing to comply with Congressional oversight probes into Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS harassment of conservative groups, Hillary Clinton related investigations, including Uranium One and of course her improper handling of classified information, and others.

    Trump signals White House won't comply with Democratic probes

    President Trump on Tuesday signaled the White House will not comply with a barrage of congressional investigations, accusing Democrats in the House of launching the probes to hurt his chances of winning reelection in 2020.

    Trump suggested he was unwilling to comply with the House Judiciary Committee’s requests for documents related to 81 of his associates, citing what he said was former President Obama’s handling of congressional probes during his time in office.

    “They didn't give one letter. They didn't do anything. They didn't give one letter of the requests,” he said. The president’s remarks suggest the White House could invoke executive privilege or take other measures to shield internal documents or discussions from Democratic-led panels investigating Trump’s administration, campaign and businesses.​

    So the precedent was set by Barack Obama himself and now Trump is directly stating that he will follow that particular precedent, for that particular reason. Obama refused to comply with congressional probes and therefore Trump will not either. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander, right?

    Trump is doing the right thing by ignoring this investigation in search of a crime. This is an abuse of the legal system spurred on purely by the motivation of political revenge. There is no place for this in a civilized democracy. Let the man do his job without being harassed by angry liberals seeking to overturn the results of the 2016 election. This "investigation" is without merit and is bad for the country. It's putting partisan disputes ahead of what's best for the United States.

    To be fair, the Trump White House will provide many documents. Bwahaha. Really. They will. Just like Obama did. Truckloads of them.

    They certainly did investigate Obama, though the subjects were different.
    Republican-led House and Senate actively pursued several investigations in which Obama and his administration were put through a wringer. The topics included Solyndra, Fast & Furious, alleged IRS bias, Benghazi and the Affordable Care Act website. To one degree or another, the Republican-led probes -- often conducted by overlapping committees in one or both chambers.

    Not sure that whatever Obama did is precedent setting, but I'm okay with Trump exerting executive privilege where such privilege is appropriate (or the fifth amendment, if he's going that route). Of course, they will need to fight out where the privilege is and is not appropriate. So, I guess my answer is a qualified Yes. I'm okay with Trump refusing and I'm okay with the House trying to force him anyway. As I understand it though, quite a few of the requests are some parties that are not in the Administration, so Trump wouldn't be able to block those.

    So basically, you now admit that despite the bravado of the title of the thread you started, that you now reverse your position and believe trump will provide documents and will comply? Actually, whatever trump spin, its pretty clear that trump will try to avoid complying with the legal requests since, well, trump is a liar and crook and will do everything he can to avoid going to jail.

    But just wanted to see what you would say when your whole thread was shredded...

    Trump will provide truckloads of documents and will offer a similar level of compliance to what Obama did. Which will drive the Democrats straight up the wall, just as it did when Obama did it to the Republicans.

    SO, which false bravado approach can we expect, the false bravado where he said he will cooperate with anyone, or the false bravado that he won't? You have argued for both now...

    You posted a thread that said trump wasn't going to comply (and that seemed to be what you support). And then you say he will release all sorts of documents, with the apparent intent to not comply. So which is it?

    It's hilarious that birther Republicans tried to block and investigate everything milquetoast Obama did but now refuse to bother investigating anything about the Trump mafia, basically the most criminal enterprise in American political history. The party of law and order indeed. You can't make this **** up.
