I'm not really focused on keeping Canadian steel jobs alive. I don't actually care a lick about Canadian jobs. I'm testing this idea you posited tongue-in-cheek that US tariffs could be good for Canada. It seeme obvious to me that it's bad for everyone in Canada, and everyone in the US except the steel producers themselves.

 

For those of us who live near Canada, this hurts a lot more. Canada (and the EU) are retaliating with tarriffs on agricultural products. We get killed by that sort of thing. Not to mention, businesses here tend to buy a lot more Canadian metals and the supply chain is largely built around that.
