"What you do speaks so loudly, i cannot hear what you say" (Ralph Waldo Emerson) An anti war republican focused on America and lowering the regulatory and tax burden to Americans is a pretty good thing. The rest to some of us is just noise. Its just a contest between those that believe in low taxes and less government intrusion into our business and our lives versus those that believe the government should take more and take a greater role in how we run our businesses, what we pay, who we hire and how we consume products. I prefer the latter. The rest is just noise to some of us.
Trump very much wants to dictate how you run your business, what you pay, and who you hire and you how consume products. Given him another 4 years, and you choices will be limited. You will find it harder to hire immigrants or minorities. You will have less choice at the stores as Trump will use his power to control imports. The products you buy will be less safe as he drops safety standards. The water you drink will have more toxins. The food you eat will be of less quality. You will have less health care choices as Trump will restrict or eliminate coverage. The women in your lives will have less choices - not just for abortion but for all health services. Homelessness on the streets will increase as he cuts services to cities. Crime will increase. Violence will increase. Cities will decay. Everything he tells you that will happen under Biden is what will actually happen under him. Meanwhile the rich will do better and better.
It is just noise to you because President Trump is a horrible person, a poor leader and corrupt..... but you need a basis to justify voting for him, and that is how you do it.
“Fauci is a disaster. If I listened to him, we'd have 500,000 deaths," he said on the campaign call on Monday, before later saying it would be 700,000 or 800,000. You are deranged to believe this.
Those are fair points if you wanted to vote for a Mitt Romney or some other small government pro-business Republican. The problem is that Trump isn't your typical small government pro-business Republican. The total package comes with a heavy dose of corruption and nepotism. Now you might not care about that as long as your taxes are low but quote the Bible, "What benefits a man to gain the World but lose his soul?" I'll be honest that I personally have benefitted and continue to benefit from the recent economy and even now my stock portfolio is looking good. Corruption at the highest level of our government though isn't something I see as just noise. While it might not hurt me now in the long run such abuse of the office will eventually catch up with all of us. Also as other posters have noted it's not like Trump policies haven't intruded into people's businesses. In my state Trump's trade war hurt the farm economy a lot as farmers lost overseas markets for soybeans, hogs and corn. Also to add the poor response to COVID-19 including vindictive moves such as seizing PPE from states that didn't get along with the President is a major drag on the economy.
TDS is really just accountability and a way for people to ignore all the horrible things Trump does with magical thinking. DD
Less government? How much debt did trump rack up in the last four years? This when the economy was not in a recession.
