Of course not. It was just a stupid applause line that people who feel disenfranchised will always bite on. The solution to corporate interests in government is not more regulations, it's the election of wise and principled public servants to high office.
Yes, but we have live examples of elections and appointments of unwise and unprincipled (to put it mildly) public servants to high, medium, low office. We see that conflict of interest means little now. It used to mean something. If people can’t see the problems with something as basic as that, and they won’t because of partisanship, we should have official rules to make it illegal.
I should have put a winky face on that post. Still, I mean this part without irony: lobbyists are not corrupt; politicians are corrupt. It's like getting your cheating husband to be faithful by insisting all the women around him dress conservatively. We just need to vote harder, clap, clap!

It appears trump should have googled his new lawyer a bit more carefully... And heh... CNN's Jake Tapper felt good defending the NYT report that trump was hiring a new lawyer (which trump of course, lied and cried "fake news")...

I honestly think the Trump plan all along was not to win and use the publicity and new status as a political personality for stuff like this. The trump hotel in DC is now a big spot for Republicans and lobbyists to hang out, and I'm sure New York is the same way. If memory serves me correct there were also plans at one point for a Trump line of hotels (with gaudy Americana themes) and a news network. It's just really hard to do all of those things when you end up winning the election.
Truly amazing how corrupt trump and all around him are... if nothing else, future presidents should never be allowed to run businesses while in office...
This is horrible for any number of reasons. It is corrupt and sucks. I would like to know from any of the Christian Values voters on this site like @cml750 how they support this.
