Warner was also not working at a grocery store when he and his future wife met. He would later work in a grocery store, but that was after they had gotten together. And their courtship was considerably longer than one year. It was several years after they met that they married. I do wonder why someone took the time to make up a story (whoever wrote the original email) when the real story is just as good (if not better). The stuff about her parents' deaths, the stuff about how her son became brain damanged (dropped by his father as an infant). I guess the story of a college QB meeting an older woman at a bar (and his knowing about the children and the boy's disabilities beforehand) just isn't as compelling a read for some people. The Kurt Warner story is an extremely good story. And the emotions and issues are largely the same in the email vs. the true story.
www.snopes.com Origins: Eeesh, what to do with such a glurge? The premise of the story -- that Kurt Warner of the Rams married the mother of two children, one of whom which had severe medical problems -- is true. On the other hand, most of the key details given in the now widely e-mailed story are wrong. (Which in itself is a crying shame because the real story about Kurt's and Brenda's path through life is far more inspiring than this factually incorrect one.) I stand by my thought that the story isn't "true". My comments about Mrs. Warner were inappropiate, but do not change the fact that the story has embellishments (a fancy term for a small lie here, a small lie there) which caused me to dismiss the story. It is more true than I gave it credit for. Its awesome that he did marry her and her true life. I have no problem with the Warners (except my lack of physical physical for Mrs Warner and that the Rams play in the NFC). Sorry if my lack of PC and openness offended y'all. I got the email also which aided my disbelief.
