Just heard texans re signed Troy Nolan back. My question is who gets cut to make room for his roster spot.
He knows the system, and we know he can be trusted when we run the dime package. I expect him to get plenty of playing time over the next few weeks with Demps out, so I would say yes, it's a solid pick up. The real question is why did we cut him in the first place? I assume that Keo is just THAT much better than him as a gunner on special teams.
Inactives for the titans game: QB 12 J.Beck, WR 18 L.Jean, CB 20 R.Carmichael, CB 26 B.Harris, ILB 54 M.Alexander, T 66 A.Gardner, G 79 B.Brooks
I don't know if you watch special teams but Keo does a really great job as does the special teams unit in general. Cutting Beck makes the most sense we still have Keenum if we need another QB
It's not worth keeping a guy PURELY for special teams when he is not even capable of playing on the defense at all. If you have to sign a guy off the street to play ahead of him, he's not worth keeping.
That's too bad, I thought Beck played well in pre-season, and honestly, he looked a lot better than TJ. Hopefully we don't regret this move.
John Beck is cut. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...250408-0d6a-11e2-ba6c-07bd866eb71a_story.html
If we have to rely on Beck or TJ to take us to the Super Bowl our season is over anyway. I think we can get by with TJ if we lose Schaub for 4 weeks or so. It would be nice if we had Hasselbeck as a backup like the Titans do however.
