Originally Scheduled for Wednesday night, 11-10. Do the Rockets still do the promo? Reschedule? Cancel all together? Have they addressed it? Curious to see how they handle this. There’s so many ways this could go, and looks like many will be upset either way.
Just did a Google search and seems like tweets and Instagram posts are no longer available regarding Wed night.
They may have. If so, they did so quietly. They sure stopped promoting it. Haven’t seen an official statement either way.
yeah, go ahead and cancel that…too much negative attention and would look out of touch and insensitive promoting him right now
I had noticed the same. I can understand why they would cancel. But cancelling without a statement is weak. I’m sure they will make an official statement soon.
The Rockets’ plans for a "Travis Scott Day" on Wednesday were canceled, replaced with a moment of silence before the game against the Detroit Pistons in the wake of the Astroworld Festival tragedy last week. The Rockets had planned a themed T-shirt giveaway at Wednesday’s game. After the tragedy, in which at least eight people died and many others were injured in the crush near the stage, those plans were dropped and the Rockets' social media posts were deleted. The Rockets had not made an announcement about the change of plans under the circumstances. “After what was a horrific tragedy last week, we felt it would have been insensitive and not the right time for us to move forward,” Rockets president of business operations Gretchen Sheirr said. “Tonight, we’ll honor victims with a moment of silence to help our community heal.” Sheirr said there is hope that each event in town — Wednesday’s game was the fourth event in Toyota Center since the tragedy, including a concert that night — would help with the process to allow the city move forward. “That’s always my hope with sports, particularly when our city goes through difficult times,” Sheirr said. She said no plans have been made to reschedule the event that had been planned for Wednesday.
They should shoot Big Macs into the crowd from those rocket shirt launchers. It could get kind of messy but what the hell. At least nobody will die.
