That ending was anticlimactic as hell. It wasn't even that good of a game up until Oregon tied it up. At that point it could have been something special, instead we end up with the biggest play of the game being some fluke.
Repeat after me...there will never be another championship game like Texas-USC....there will never be another game like that. Hook em.
Cam Newton was not even the best player on his team today. At least 3 defense players should go ahead of him and I felt that Adams & Dyer played as well if not better than Newton. Though Newton will get the accolades since his the quarterback.
Look guy, I'm through "arguing". If Auburn had driven the length of the field led by Cam Newton (the controversial Heisman Trophy winner) without a fluke play and kicked a FG on the last play of the game, the ending would have been epic. Maybe it's hard for you to understand, but huge games in any sport can be "OK", but the ending can make it great. The opportunity was there tonight.
I wasn't hyper-impressed with Newton but it seemed he was going to put the game away until it appeared that he picked up an injury on one of those runs in the 4th. But no, then good comeback, fluke, extra point-ish FG BLAH
No, I understand it. But when you watch a championship game, you hope the last team standing won by out playing the other team, not by but not underplaying the other team. A drive without that play would have saved this game from that distinction as the previous 58 minutes was slosh-filled. With that play at that moment, that entire feeling was bolded, underlined, and highlighted.
Even the announcers you could tell were trying to fake excitement after that Dyer play. Even they knew that the game and play was a huge letdown...
The game was a huge letdown because everyone expected a shootout. I'm glad it turned out to be a defensive struggle. I do wish the finish was better but oh well. This game was on at the line of scrimmage.
The stupid play-call to run on 4th down at the goal line with haunt them too. So will Darren Thomas' 1st quarter meltdown when they had a chance to take control the game.
oregon's playcalling in general is going to haunt them. and boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy darron thomas can't throw for ****
