usually all of our home games are on HD but when I checked my guide (Comcast) for FSNHD it listed the Mavericks game. im in houston by the way.
I have digital cable and the FSNDH is showing Mavs/Knicks. Now it better be a mistake or theres gonna be hell to pay.
What I'm pissed about is that even tho this season is SUPPOSED TO BE ALL HOME GAMES IN HD, I've had several HOME GAMES on NBALP not HD.
Because ratings are so low for Rockets games FSN is going to try the Mavs! EDIT OK that is a bad joke. I live in Dallas and they list Rockets on FSN frequently but never show them so I'm sure this is the same scenario in Houston when they list the Dallas game.
HD is still really complicated. The Rockets WANT all the games at TC to be in HD because they have the gear, but there are issues with broadcasting to other networks (i.e. NBATV) and with occasional conflicts with other events of FSN. Away games are even more complicated because not everyone has the right HD setup. The NFL runs into this problem because it has limited HD gear and bandwidth, so only the most popular games are shown in true HD. In a few years, none of this will matter because prices on gear and bandwidth will continue to fall and all the games will be in HD. These are just growing pains.
When it's on NBATV and at home, it's on FSNHD. The Hornets' game was on FSN HD. It's not complicated, really. HOME, HD... away, who knows??
I understand the away games, I was never sweating those. It was just the home games. Since living in Dallas & only having access to NBALP, I'll take it, but its hard as hell going from HD to SD! What was double weird, SAT vs Hornets was SD image size/resolution in HD quality. OT: IMO, the Warriors have the best looking HD broadcast! I'm mega super impressed with their image quality, combo court colorsa, and lighting. It's just super clean.
What I dont like, is that with comcast I have no League Pass games in HD. League Pass is not cheap, and we should have at least some HD options. I wonder how long it is going to take to get LP HD channels.
