Duncan easily best player of his era. Also the type of person you should look up to and should remind people that staying with an organization through the down years can pay off. Thinking of how easily he could've joined Tracy in Orlando, it makes the Durant move look even more weak. Hope we can one day see another Duncan, who is the same class as Olajuwon. Humble and true leaders.

All-time great and handled himself with class his entire career. As much as I have hated the Spurs, you have to respect Tim Duncan.

This guy was a true leader. He wasn't looking for the most fame. He wasn't looking for the most money. He just wanted to win and be a great team player.

Duncan is the best PF center of all time. I hated him because he was so good for so long. His peak wasn't as great as others, but very few were as good for as long.

One of the best players and professionals I've ever seen play the game. What a legend.

Crazy to think that neither Kobe or Duncan will be around next year. Both were a huge part of my child hood. :(

Knew it was coming after last season, he wasn't himself.

It's pretty bitter sweet, one the greatest and finally a Rockets nightmare gone.

He was pretty good at his peak. From 2001-2003 he averaged 25-15-5-3 in the playoffs.

Second greatest player to ever play in Texas (after Dream), a consummate professional.

Easy, he's simply the best player since MJ and it should be remembered as the Duncan era.

I didn't say his peak wasn't great. I said it was as good as others. Compare them to Jordan, Dream, Wilt, Bird, Lebron's peaks. What made him special is that was one of the top 5 players in the league for probably 12-15 years.

Most of the stats say Lebron was a better player than duncan.

Lebron has already outscored Duncan in both the regular season and playoffs. He has more MVPs and the same number of finals MVPs. He has significantly better +/- than Duncan in the both the playoffs and regular season. We has more winshares and his vorp is better. Other than rings its hard to make a case Duncan was better than Lebron.

Let them enjoy their moment. I don't think anyone argues LeBron will be better when it's all said and done.

Tim Duncan, what can I say?

    Greatest PF ever
Arguably one of the greatest 5 players ever all time. (I think he is)

Guy was everything you wanted on the court from a big man. EVERYTHING

So glad he beat the Heat for number 5. I really wish he would have got number 6 this year but you knew it was coming, he looked like he hit his wall. :(

Me being 35 years old its hit me hard that the players I grew up watching and fell in love/hate with are all but gone from my era. KG is the only one left and he might as well be retied already. Only Dirk and Pierce are left.

My NBA love-affair chapter is almost closed aside from the Rockets...

Mad respect from this lifelong native Houstonian (and introvert)
