Thought Experiment: Gordon for Brogdon and Bledsoe

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by BigBum, Oct 1, 2018.

?

Should We trade Eric Gordon for Malcolm Brogdon/Eric Bledsoe?

  1. Yes, we'd have better chance of re-signing Brogdon than Gordon and we need depth.

  2. No, Eric Gordon has more relevant NBA experience and play more gimmicky defense

There were so much injury last year. The depth is getting more important than before.

Gordon for Brogdon and Bledsoe makes us worse

Gordon should only be dealt for upgrades...we are trying to win a title

Chris Paul is one of the more cerebral players in the league and less dependent on his physical attributes than a lot of other players. He’ll probably drop off some, but I would compare him to a Steve Nash type and would imagine that he’ll be elite for quite a while longer than most.

I think that’s why Morey was comfortable signing him to the max extension when he didn’t really need to yet this early.

Not sure why ppl have turned on EG but the guy is instant offense for us. He's the best 6th man in the NBA & can start for anybody. If a reasonable offer doesn't come, keeping him might be the best option

it wasnt all bad luck, i feel like cp3 and harden had to do too much. melo will solve that if he can eat healthy and keep his mind on basketball

When you have a chance to get a dude like Jimmy Butler you do it. Include Tucker also.

the only issue with that logiic is cp3 has shown he is injury prone AND gsw has more superstars than us...ours are better but they have more. Is EG a superstar? prob not but he has superstar power if that make sense. Melo is the one question mar. he can be hot as **** for us or he hac literally destroy our chemistry. that is a risk morey was willing to take...and I stand with him there

I honestly think the window for Harden, CP3, and a bunch of role players to win a title won’t extend past this season...if Morey acquires a 3rd star then the window can be extended a little bit...CP3 isn’t getting any less injury prone

What do u mean by he didn’t really need to yet this early?

No you don't. You don't trade your best most versatile defender, who hits 3's, rebounds & does all the intangibles. Not to mention one of the most durable players in league too.

We need to consolidate players into a star. Not pick up more role players.

This is not a good trade. EG surpasses both of them. I like Brogdon as a backup PG, but he is a good average starter.
