This thread is different from @Os Trigonum Trust me. Just want to say.....we could have had Monte McNair instead of Stone(look at how good the Kings look lol).
The organization is in a rough spot because of ownership We could have kept Morey, Tad Brown, and probably MDA and Harden to this day if it weren’t for Tilmans purchase. Even if Harden and MDA wanted out at some point, we would have had an elite GM to make that trade and coach replacement, to guide the rebuild/retool. We traded CP + control over 4 picks for WB We traded a top 5 player in Harden for a mystery box of picks from a team in a premier market. A top 5 player for ZERO guaranteed premium assets. Ran off an elite player, coach, and GM, crashed one of the best franchises into the ground for the pleasure of the team being owned by the shitty chain restaurant guy. At least we get cameos from the likes of Dan Patrick at jersey retirement nights.
This is an organization of buts. We have two very talented, very high draft picks BUT we don't put them in a position to succeed. We have a great offensive pivot BUT we don't run the offense through him. We have a promising scoring guard in Kevin Porter Jr. BUT we insist on running him at the point. We have one of the youngest teams in the league BUT we are not good on the break. We need a good, steady veteran presence BUT all we do is trot out a sulking Eric Gordon. We are a team that needs discipline BUT we have none. And there are many buts besides. You know what they say about buts? they make an ass out of your butt. sincerely, R
Are they doing this intentionally to tank for Wemby? are they incompetent? Can silas coach? Will tyty/JC get more mins? When will we trade Gordon? Will we ever get a new training facility? Is tilman a cheap man? Too many questions that needs to b answer.
Disagree on the premise. What organization has going for it: - filled with young talent who have great upside. - has a pristine cap sheet, with no bad contracts. - will have huge amounts of money to spend in the offseason. - Currently has the best odds to land a generational talent in the upcoming draft, with the consolation prize only being a different, but still awesome, prospect. -Numerous unprotected picks from a team with an aging roster. What the organization has going against it: - an extremely dumb owner. - an extremely cheap owner. - lack of own picks from said dumb owner. - a very whiny and impatient fanbase. As soon as next year, the team can add 2 max contracts and a generational draftee. Maybe we slow down on the pity parties for now.
Is there any real smoke about a new coach or are we just hoping because we see what every person with even the most basic understanding of basketball sees?
On Rockets Watch one of the hosts was saying that if the losing streak reaches double digits and we lose to Charlotte they think Silas will be fired, another one had the opinion that he would have already been fired but his father's passing stopped that process. DD
Tilman is out here having the analytics department run numbers for the amount of days it takes to grieve. (On a serious note, I think he has until the Charlotte game too)
The Rockets need to start winning if they want to make the playoffs! Who needs that generational Wembanana dude anyway!?!
