The season will turn around when Oswalt throws another complete game shutout. When he is healthy, this team starts winning again.
When they start getting extra base hits and HR's. They are playing like the 1965 Dodgers (without the pitching) right now. That Dodgers (97-65) team hit .245 with 72 HR's and had 103 sacrifices. The Astros (33-31) are hitting .276 with 60 HR's and 48 sacrifices. The Dodger pitching staff had a 2.81 ERA and had two 20 game winners, Koufax (26-8) and Drysdale (23-12) The Astros staff has a 3.76 ERA with Clemens (9-1) Miller (6-6) and Oswalt (4-5) with the most wins The Dodgers won the World Series in 1965.
Not quite a complete game, but this is the sign we've been waiting for. Winning streak, here we come!
Well....Ensberg finally hit his himerun. Yet the season hasn't turned aroung. Heres's what to do next year: Force Bagwell to retire in a nice PR way. Sign Beltran to a long term deal. Extend Jeff Kent's contract 1 more year slowly moving Chris Burke in. Add some great bullpen help like the cubs did for a few million dollars. Have Biggio platton with Willy Tavaras. Did i miss anything.......Oh ya, i guess we ahoud hire a black person too.
