... Morgan Ensberg hits his first HR. What's your guys' vote? I'm prepared for the endless "when they fire Jimy" rants, but lets be a little more creative. (at least nobody can say, "when we bat Berkman third.") Seriously... with this cosmic funk that's surrounding this team, it's gonna take something unorthodox (like a Morgan blast), or lucky to just snap this team out of it. My second vote goes to... when the Astros batters actually make somebody fall on that hill for once. Seriously... we've seen Biggio take a tumble already twice this year, and Berkman did it plenty in 2002.
Redding pitched 7 innings, allowing only 2 runs. If we could manage more than 1 run we might win some games.
not according to Gerry. he's still got a long way to go to get back his velocity. not sure if it will ever happen for him.
Definitely the winner thus far... (of course, until they wash them after the game. ) All joking aside, however, this team is ANGRY, and ready to bust out... I feel sorry for the poor teams that are gonna be in their way.
Glad you brought that up. From today's Chronicle: You're not going to win a lot of games when we're not scoring any runs," Biggio said. "This is a very frustrating time for us right now. We can't put our finger on it. We don't know why it's happening, but it is happening. "We have to right it. We have to correct it. We have to find a way to work our way through it. Sooner or later, somebody is going to pay." Coming from Biggio, Mr. Cliche, this is as close to "angry" as hes gonna get IMO.
Do you know how hot those things get? Cotton breathes, you see, it's much softer. Imagine playing games and your team is five degrees cooler than the other team. Don't you think that would be an advantage? They're cooler, they're more comfortable...they're happier - they're gonna play better.
The season wil(sic) turn around when... Richard Justice suits up and bats leadoff. The ESPN announcers last night were disagreeing with what he said about Kent.
Yea... I have a feeling he was writing those all along so he'd get quoted in the media, and everybody would take notice. Not a bad idea, if you crave attention... but not a good one if you crave credibility (then again, richie's had a very solid career as a journalist, so his credibility is safe). His column today provided more depth and constructivity that should have been there two days ago. (he was talking about how everybody on this team is still working hard at the little things, and how everybody is still 100% confident.) He should stick with those, instead of his "Lets throw everybody away, and fire everybody for every bad decision ever made... and lets be like the Brewers!"
he obviously don't know much about baseball. He was complaining about not getting enough for Hidalgo in the trade thread.
