Covington is a massive upgrade over House...... plus Covington plays the 4 and 5 very well.

Covington would end up play 20 minutes a night at center anyway...... that leaves around 20 minutes for someone like Noel.

Would I give up two #1's for Holmes? Not likely....... I pointed it out because it would give the Rockets a strong starting center.

The Rockets need a 4/5 that is capable of defending, switching, can get out in transition and stretch the defense.... Covington does that.

Capela is a nice player and has value.......

Morey’s revolving door of assets. No patience for developing young players until it’s too late.

Regardless if Codman or Cyber has heard this stuff, Kevin O'C definitely heard this. He's a great reporter even if he was a bit misinformed on Eric's trade-ability. Morey is always interested in improving this roster and letting Robert Covington go was a mistake I guarantee Morey wants to rectify.

I don't think Covington is a massive upgrade over House and him and Noel player C is nowhere near what Capela gives us.

Holmes is not a strong starting center no way no how, I would not give up a 1st for him.

Covington is not a MASSIVE upgrade over House at all.......He is PJ Tucker like, we need a TALLER more athletic PF that can hit the 3ball.

We will have to agree to disagree.

I am not sure why the comparison is to House. Covington and House would play different positions on the Rockets. Covington would be play mostly the 4 and 5 for the Rockets.

He's taller than PJ. He's essentially an improved Trevor Ariza.

    Yeah let's do that.

So now Covington can play the 5?

When has he ever done that?

    What about rebounds?

He has a career average of 6 rebounds a game.

Covington would play the 3 or the 4.

You want to *add* Covington to the team, not use Covington as a *replacement*

It really doesn't matter, though. Tilman ensured we cannot add somebody substantial, so it really is a moot point. Nothing will happen, except maybe we use a pick to sell off a couple guys to duck the tax again.

Thing to me is, I've seen Covington listed at 6'7", 6'9".....The Tuck Wagon being 6'5".
Covington's 7'2" wingspan seems universally accepted. In any case, he'd be great here, but at the expense of............what player(s)? EGO can't be traded (and maybe shouldn't be). Capela's our center and averaging 14 rebounds and a couple blocks, so, no. Tucker is the Beloved of God and won't go anywhere.

Our detritus adds up to......not much. I don't know, something tells me we'll be watching the buyout market and hope everyone doesn't wind up in LA.

Yes. He's a better one-on-one defender than Ariza ever was.

Agreed. Ariza's man to man defense was a bit overrated imo anyway.

For a guy who had his beginnings with this team, we know awfully little about the man he has become, Robert Covington......
