notice how the CCW people are being extremely rigid and proclaiming that it isn't CW :D

for the record, I first saw it as CW and after a little bit was able to see it CCW, but only for a few seconds.

I can see both. But then again, I'm also pretty even-minded (as in I'm fairly equal in my left/right brain tendencies).

Sure you can. You are just not thinking it through - if she is facing the viewer she would be only on her heel - with her foot/toes raised up a bit. It her foot would then both be distorted by perspective and higher than her heel.

Besides, "real-world" physics and anatomy obviously don't apply because the woman is clearly floating in space based on the shadow.

I can only see her going clockwise. But, there is no way I'm right-brained.

I could not see the image turning CCW, it was always CW.

However, when I tried to focus just on the shadow below her feet, and then when i see a shift i look up the image was going CCW. Hmmm Go fig.

I can make her move either direction at will.

Cover her body with your hand from the vagina up, and cover her feet. It can change if you make it change. Pretty odd actually.

The dancer is moving clockwise. The dancer's shadow is moving counter-clockwise.

It really doesnt matter how hard you try, but based on anatomical configurations, its impossible for her to be facing you in the still picture. yes, 99% of the image can be reversed back and forth, but that picture, she is definitely facing away. Another example would be the bend in her elbow...unless she has a severely broken elbow...she has to be facing away.

The rotating image is changing direction, not the static image.

When she is rotating, whether you see it CW or CCW, notice which leg is extended. After a few moments...or after you scroll down or something, you'll notice that the image changes and now the other leg is extended.

In the static image, like I just stated, it wouldnt be anatomically correct for her to be facing you. I can understand the "theory", but that really has nothing to do with right or left brain usage.

For me, first time it was CW, then counter clockwise for a long time, then back to CW, and finally back to CCW.

    Its just an optical illusion.

If you focus on the movements of the tip of her foot's shadow you'll see her going CCW.

you look away and then its back to Clockwise.

Her arm can be coming forward. Perspective is distorted both coming to the eye and moving away from the eye.

Bingo. It is a 2-D image. Any depth in the image is created by your own perception.
