A Supreme Court trial will be a coronation of America's First King in nearly 250 years.
Once they rule he has immunity . . .. Trump and his sycophants will be emboldened.

    Possibilities of
There may be another Jan 6th before the election
    Armed militias are polling stations
He may win the election and will NEVER LEAVE OFFICE . . . unless he dies

The question is what basis is the USSC deciding to take up the case. My understanding was the that the court of appeals had a very sound ruling. If so why would the USSC decide to hear it?

The result was right, but some of the logic and legal reasoning was wrong that may not be wanted as the final word. I'll expand by the weekend, if you care. It also takes only 4 to grant cert. I think this will come out 7-2.

But the system doesn't care. The delays/loopholes for rich people have and will continue to exist. Again, it's not the government's right to a speedy trial, it's the defendent's right, if he chooses to pursue it. It's normally slow for everyone, unless the defendent wants to speed it up.

I’m interested in hearing what logical
And legal reasoning was wrong as most of the legal pundits I’ve heard have said this ruling was as solid as they come.

…never leave office — you mean like the unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats in DC that believe they run the country? People in federal agencies, intel agencies, NGOs, lobbyists, mainstream media, and all others that comprise the deep state? Is this your fear? You are being red pilled and don’t even know it!

    GOOD DAY

Or they rule with the other judges that he has no immunity.....

Of course if they rule a President has immunity - Joe Biden could simply execute him and claim immunity for the good of the country.

Since delaying the decision on immunity is trump's best and only defense, I have a strong hunch the ussc will wait until December to release their decision. And that their decision will be president's don't have immunity. By then it will be too late to effect whether trump get's elected or not. But the court will want to decide for future presidents. The maga republicans will succeed in protecting trump, and any member of the court that wants to pretend they didn't want to be the court that ruled that presidents are above the law will protect the court's reputation and place in history.

It takes 5 to stay, which is the case here. 5+ of 9 judges looked at the lower court decision and thought that there was a reasonable chance that it was wrong. If they turn around and vote to uphold the lower court decision, then What The Bloody ****. Their 5+ votes to stay becomes a vote to potentially allow the next POTUS to dismiss the federal cases against him and to escape accountability. And the SCOTUS knew full well what they were doing.

3 days to decide Bush v Gore.

3 weeks to decide United States v. Nixon.

In this case, the SCOTUS already refused to expedite and hear the case in December 2023, allowing a lower court to first rule. The assumption at the time was the case law was novel but airtight ... the POTUS is not immune from all action taken as POTUS.

The lower decided on February 6, 2024 that Trump was not immune. Note the lower court took up the case and had a decision faster than than the SCOTUS will take to hear its first argument on the same case. For those keeping track at home, that is 4 months to get started.

if they decide that trump has immunity then biden could theoretically take out trump and his entire family and couldnt be prosecuted for it, right?

this whole notion that trump was acting in his official capacity as president when he incited an insurrection in order to prevent the transfer of power is pretty f***ing stupid. anyone who buys that argument is either a partisan hack and/or a moron.

but they won't rule until after the election so they can delay and say immunity if Trump wins and no Immunity if/when Biden wins AGAIN!
