its always cool to hear we have fans all over the world... but what they really know bout that southside? Houston over everything
It's cool to connect with local Rockets fans too. My first stop in America was Texas - Three years of high school there. Know a tiny bit about Texans. Some are nice lol
He can express his opinion about anything. Including those affairs in China. You are the one changing the definition with a slight of hand.
We can get back to being Houston's team & not China's b****? Maybe, maybe no? But the Rockets must've been paid handsomely. Don't recall a team pandering to a country/region/location like the Rockets & China. Don't see any Australia Sixers jerseys or Serbia Nuggets jerseys or Greece Bucks jerseys or Slovenia Mavs jerseys... Spoiler
Fact, America once belonged to England It's no wonder America supports Hong Kongs endeavor-- they want freedom
I just hope that we can still have access to local, delicious seafood at a reasonable price. Landry's is so delicious and sold at such a reasonable price. People brag about getting to work there, on the pier. It's glamorous, and fulfilling, and majestic. And the seafood. They never lose sight of the actual thing that you came for. Kemah for the seafood, staydah for the carnival games. They treat you like a real stepson.
China uses violence to impose its will on hk and violate the agreement. So people should passively sit by and lose their freedom? Got it. Go shill elsewhere.
or maybe we are relevant because we have a great GM named MOREY who knows how to assemble good teams while typically staying underneath the salary cap.
Y’all so goddam sensitive. It’s just business. If rockets weren’t making money off it you can bet they wouldn’t put any Chinese anywhere.
It is also ironic that the China state controlled TV media will only broadcast good news inside China but when there is anything bad or shooting happened in the western world (especially in US), they almost always get better feeds, more details and breaking faster than CNN.
I'm somewhat surprised by this post considering how much of a student of history you are. I fully agree with you that the PRC is repressive regime but the support of most Chinese for it isn't a matter of Stockholm syndrome or being coerced. China 30 years ago was very poor. The century before that China was wracked by civil war and carved up into spheres of influence by foreign powers. The CCP since Deng has actually delivered on vast improvements in the standard of living, physical development and made restored China into a global power. A position China hasn't been in since 1600. This isn't to defend the authoritarian rule of Xi Jinping or HK's aspirations but that it is very simplistic and a mistake to just think of the PRC has being an abusive drunk and the Chinese people as an abused spouse.
I really hope he was hacked. If not morey power to him. We’re a free country. I’m sure there are many in PRC that have his sentiment deep down... especially the Buddhist monks.
Just to follow up with what I posted earlier. For those who don't understand why the Chinese are so sensitive to things like this and particularly in regard to HK. See this clip. This is from the movie Ip Man 2 and is set in Hong Kong in the 1950's. The set up to this scene is that the white guy is a British boxing champion. He is visiting HK and was invited to watch an exhibition of Chinese martial arts. He insults and mocks the Chinese including knocking a few out. Master Hung challenges him to defend the honor of the Chinese. While this is fiction this is what much of Chinese media the last 20 years is like and is how many Chinese feel. That the rest of the world doesn't respect China and wants to see China weak.
The comment was more a description of the CCP's relationship with the Chinese people, and the way they try to then apply that learned interpersonal dynamic of domination with the rest of the world with predictably cringe worthy results. They interact with other countries as though they are just more peasants over they have absolute dominion and other countries and other peoples arent as submissive. It was not intended as an in depth psychological study of the Chinese people.
Hmmmmm, what would a Houston city jersey look like? Replace the letter H with the Houston H hand sign. Replace the letter O with a swanga. Replace the letter U with a cup of lean. Use the same "S" from the Be Someone sign Replace the letter T with an upside down space shuttle Replace the letter O with another swanga Keep the letter N
