Paredes was all star last season and hit 31 homeruns the season prior. Why not have faith? He's 26 years old.

 

Faith as in, when we need a big hit in a game.

So you are saying that Pena will hit more homers and have an OPS higher than Paredes?

 

Pena will be a better all around player this year than Paredes

 

That's not saying much. Pena can do that with an average bat because of his defense. If Pena has a higher offensive WAR than Paredes then he will be an all-star and get MVP votes.

 

Don't care about WAR. I feel better with Pena batting in pressure situations this year than Paredes until he proves otherwise.

 

You literally have no historical data to back up your claim. Paredes has always been better offensively than Pena. Again, I hope Pena does hit better than Paredes because he will get MVP votes if he does. Paredes was an all-star because of his bat.

 

Why do you need data when I said I trust Pena to have a better season overall than Paredes this year. It's not a FACT, it's my feeling. LOL

 

I think the point is that your feeling is irrational because it runs counter to overwhelming data. But you are most certainly entitled to your feelings and opinions.

 

One thing we know will definitely happen is that plenty of things that will probably not happen will definitely happen.
