You know a lot of it was expectations - for me, how he is playing now is how I expected the number 2 pick to play, not right away but surely by December...it just took him some time, but right now, imho, he is ROY hands down. DD
True expectations were sky high amongst the fan base - which is why they don't run the team. I mean, all this goes to show the org knew what it was doing and the fans knew crap. How many people were talking about benching him after a few weeks?
the way he is playing right now is far above any reasonable expectations of a number two pick in a rookie season. This is historic combination of scoring and efficiency. Is it sustainable? I’m not sure … but we’re talking about the way he is playing right now.

Factoring in the entire season, Green is one of the best shooters in his draft class. He is not only one of the leaders among his class in unassisted 3PM, he also leads all rookies in 3PA and is top 10 in 3PT%. If you look specifically at his numbers since February 1st, Green (28 games) would be unquestionably the best shooter, leading rookies in 3FGA, 3PT% and unassisted 3PM It turns out a 19 year old that shot 3PT 36.5% on 6 attempts per game in a much tougher basketball league (G-League), with NBA 3s, would translate well to the NBA.
Im fine to b accused of being a Jalen green only fan then b associated with the sht takes littered throughout this thread.
People keep bringing up the way he started the year but even though it wasn’t great, he had some really good games/moments mixed in. I know it was just summer league, but since he’s been drafted Jalen had a rough couple of months sandwiched in between a bunch of spectacular with some sprinkles mixed in. For a young sg playing on this team under the circumstances I couldn’t ask for much more. Hopefully this thread becomes even funnier as it ages.
