Putting aside my hater hat, it’s still possible that Jalen eventually develops into a decent scorer, I always thought his upside was Zach Lavine. The problem is that Zach Lavine is not very good and the Bulls are actually trying to salary dump him. If it takes Jalen another 4 years to develop into a meh player like Lavine, it’s not worth it to tank the team and wait on him just for such a mediocre outcome.

When people argue against trading him it’s because of the risk that he becomes something great for another team. If the risk is just missing out on a Zach Lavine I doubt anyone would bat an eye, and that’s exactly what it would be in a worst case scenario. More likely it is looking like an Andrew Wiggins situation.

I was anti-Suggs, I thought his talent was limited. When he struggled in Year 1, I felt very smart and perceptive.

But the thing is, a winner-is-winner, they find a way usually. His progress has been remarkable.

Lesson is, never underestimate guys who have competed and won in the pre-NBA levels. Competitiveness is a talent by itself.
Contrast that to the Ignite bush-league, which is just exhibition basketball. Major difference.

He had the best name, what if he succeeded and his name is still Suggs (Sucks)

I would say that Cade was just doing what Jalen was doing last year but that'd be wrong because Jalen didn't lead the Rockets to the longest losing streak of all time. Slow, unathletic, inefficient, turnover prone chucker with low IQ and bad defense. The Pistons look shockingly more competitive since he's been injured.

Maybe that's what the FO is thinking. But I disagree that benching him would tank his value any more than letting him play the way he's been playing.

Teams that would be interested in Green would be watching tapes and advanced stats. Those are not pretty. What would keep his value up is finding a way to have him play better. Maybe nothing will work. But the status quo clearly isn't working.

I told you so, I told you so, I TOLD YOU SO - giving Jalen Green a starting position and not holding him accountable was a major mistake - he is now an entitled brat that IME has to break all the way down to get the best out of him, so much so, that it is likely he is traded this offseason now.

Jalen Green SHOULD HAVE EARNED his starting job, instead of having it given to him, this is HORRIBLE organizational planning/management.

    UGH!

The "Jalen Green Experience" is on par with the experience of getting a root canal.

Jalen Green is a volume chucker and he needs the ball in his hands to get into rhythm. He does not provide enough on the defensive end when he's having an off-night shooting to warrant minutes on the court in Ime's eyes because Ime is very much a defense first kind of coach.

In this era of efficiency, Jalen Green's game simply does not fit. He would probably been a lot more successful in the 2000s when teams didn't care about how much you chuck up shots and 3s weren't as important.

Cam being here further shows the problem with Green's game. Cam is efficient, comes into the game and can knock down 3s on most nights and he's just a rookie to boot. He has much better control when driving to the rim, better on ball defense and is great at reading passes for steals off-ball. He's also completely fearless, doesn't seem like a guy who is mentally soft. We're actually so lucky to have drafted Cam at 20 because sooner or later Jalen's camp is going to leak that he wants out.

Got me curious on a tangent of winning at pre-nba levels. Looked up 2020-21 Ignite season, ignite was knocked out the first round of the G-league playoffs. Lakeland Magic ended up winning the trophy. Kuminga and Nix were Jalen's teammates that year.

Ironically, as folks here know, Nix won the championship with the Vipers following year.

That's just wrong. You're putting too much faith in magic beans and TV movies.

So far- it seems Jalen isn't good enough at basketball at the NBA level to be a high usage lead guard, which is what he was drafted to be.

There's no evidence that sitting him on the bench in favor of (Armoni Brooks? Josh Christopher? Because those were the other options) would have changed this AT ALL.

Wemby is the best rookie of the last few years. If anything he doesn't play enough. All the other really good players from 21 and 22 all started early in their careers.

There's no bench apprenticeship that saves Jalen Green.

The logical starting lineup was: J.Wall/EGo/Tate/Theis/Wood. I posted it here back then.
from there, you see if any of the rookies can earn a starting spot.
