You really haven't though. I saw this video and said "hmm, is this true". I am not saying it is. I posted it because I figured some others may have good takes on the evidence that he is presenting. That's why I keep asking you, have you looked at his evidence in the lecture. Yes or no?

It seems like your take is that the lecturer is either lying or his take shouldn't be taken as seriously since he is an activist. My question is what are you basing that on, since the whole point of the lecture is that "historians" have been lying about things. I gave you a clear example showing how some historians have been full of bs when it comes to documenting things. I didn't post that to say "hey the lecturer is right". I posted it to say "your posts seem to say history says this and this dude is biased so I don't pay attention to his take". My point is you can say the same about those who documented the history that we follow, but their bias is recorded (if it's true).

Man I don't know. :) Is he? I'm an Accountant. I'm not a history dude. That's the point of this thread. How much of what he said is bs? If it is bs, would you mind telling me why as opposed to just saying "history says this", since the point of the lecture is that historian have been covering stuff up. I hope that makes sense.

But I looked him up. He got a PHD in AA Studies and taught at WVU. Does that qualify him to be a legit historian?

Moors, if I'm not mistaken, are Berbers who converted to Islam and took Spain and Portugal with the support of the Islamic empire. They created what we know as Andalusia in Spain.

That's why you have tons of cities with Arabic names in Spain:

    Almeria
    Sevilla (Ishbelia)
    Cordoba (Qortoba)

    Here's a list: http://baheyeldin.com/writings/hist...nish-names-for-iberian-cities-and-places.html

Berbers are not racially the same as Africans btw (at least that's what they say). Berbers and African Muslims fought side by side to take Spain and Portugal and they were very generically referred to as the Moors.

Though there was a ridiculous amount of advancement during this period, it's also essentially where the Islamic empire became drunk with power, lots of corruption, atrocities, etc.

    Here's a good summary: http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/spain_1.shtml

Berber women are really really hot btw. They look French/Greek/Spanish/African. It's ridiculous.

I did. You apparently didn't understand it. The questions this dude are asking would be only of interest to someone in 19th or 20th century America. Someone like you who is interested in American slavery/post slavery cultural anthropology. And whatever they are these North Africans are clearly not the progenitors of the Africans who were enslaved and sent to the new world.

    Sorry. DNA simply doesn't lie:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berber_people#Origins_based_on_genetics

For someone who "doesn't know if you believe him" you sure are putting a whole lot of effort into defending him.

The more I watch, the more I come to the conclusion that he is a member of the Moorish Science Temple cult. I did look at enough to know that it is the same psudo-scientific BS that I've before. But the more I watch, the more I am sure that you couldn't pay me enough to listen to a full hour's worth of that same ideology draped in historical scolarship. Any more than I'd watch an hour of David Koresh or the leader of the NOI talk about "ice people" and "sun people". I read all that crap years ago, and I don't need to read that nonsense again to know it is false.

And, no. A PhD in African-American studies doesn't make you a real historian. And it certainly doesn't put you into a position to talk about the genetic history of indigenous peoples of North Africa.

I know who the Moors are because they had sex with a bunch of southern italians and that's why southern italians have darker complexion than their northern counterparts

at least that's what dustin hoffman told to christopher walken

I dont get how people say she isn't beautiful. She looked different in her older years but her younger years was fabulous defined.

I heard Greeks and some Italians like black women, if that adds any relevance into the discussion. That will be the Moors lasting influence

I happened to click on the post to see what I thought was a response to my quote. Watch the freakin' movie again, chump. I know perfectly well who was talking to who, and what they were talking about. Moorish Spain. "You (the Arab empire and influence, which directly led to Moorish Spain... in short, the great days of the empire that came from the Prophet) were great once, my lord. Time to be great again." Prince Faisal (his father was King) had said, "Did you know that in Cordoba, they had lighted streets, etc., when much of Europe were living in hovels?" That's paraphrased, and led to the comment by Lawrence. By the way, I've also read Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
