Not really sure what your point is other than people shouldn't eat bats. I disagree about China and how they thought they could contain it. No real steps were taken until it had spread well into the Lunar New Year which is their primary travel season. They let their tourists spread it all over the place. Just look at Italy. They damn well knew it was bad and were locking people in their homes, but they still didn't close their air port. Yes the damn well knew.

 

Last I heard it was an American in China that brought it back to America...

This is what has gotten my blood boiling. The far left and lib media did the same with ignoring of Islamic Law while attacking Americans instead. The double standard is infuriating.

 

So which is it... A) he's afraid to upset Xi and China or B) he loves to call it the China Virus to piss off Xi and China?

 

Why does it have to be an either/or? With trump you know he will argue whichever is most convenient for him at the time (eg before saying virus was a hoax, then saying he was into the pandemic before it was a pandemic).

btw, I don't believe trump is calling it "China Virus" to piss of Xi. I think he is calling it that to deflect blame from his slow and muddled response and play to his xenophobic base.

No country is too big or too small for its leaders to act early and decisively. What is so sad and disgusting is that Trump and other gov’t officials were given information two months ago about the seriousness of this virus and they chose to ignore or minimize the danger.

 

I think what u e learned in all of this , is @Senator definitely has yellow fever .

I dont believe the numbers coming out of China. We have more cases per 1m than they do now. I know the hip thing to do is to praise china like CNN but i have been calling the chinese gov our biggest enemy for a long time. Way before russia took that crown for some strange reason.

 

Before addressing their bat problem, you may want to address, their freedom of press/speech problem.

Changing ingrained customs will take time but fighting the tends of disinformation can be done now and is something US has concentrated on previously and helped bring down the Soviets.

Instead we have a president that not only is not willing to send aid and support of democratic institutions outside of US, he is spreading disinformation and undermining or own institutions instead for his personal political gain.

At this rate, instead of fixing China, we will become like them. Atlantic should stick to focusing on that point than trying to change people's ingrained customs with an article that those people won't ever read.

We can no longer export democratic or science values around the world viably because we sick at them as a nation now

 

Chinese people can legitimately hate Americans now and they do. All because Trump has made American government into a joke and promotes nothing but opportunism and hate. Propaganda against US and its system of governance can be done using legitimate believable sources now. We are openly corrupt, have tons of infighting and no common values, we betray our military and trade allies/commitments. We disinform and lie at the highest level and across all of our institutions.

And you expect them to care about not eating bats for our sakes? Really!?

PS. And soon, Chinese will see that their authoritative government legitimately did a better job at protecting their population than the democratic beacon of the world. And instead of being shamed they will feel pride about the whole thing

 

I stand by my post. Contrary to popular belief i dont agree with everything this president says. Screw china.

 

btw, I don't agree with much of the info we get from china. Nor russia, nor north korea. Unfortunately, trump seems to (re: trump saying putin told him they didn't meddle in our elections; trump saying kim said they weren't developing missiles any longer).

I do worry more about what our own government is saying. And increasingly, can't believe that either.

And, I completely disagree with calling a disease "Chinese Virus" (or any other country) for any reason. Especially when we do need to work with china (and other countries) to combat this disease.

 

I kinda agree but I know he (like the rest of us sane folks) is pissed at China for facking up **** again. I swear China and the CCP facking ruined the world man. For what, stupid, outdated, medieval food and medicine. That;s why we have no basketball, futbol, nothing. People dying so Chinese man can get their dicks hard at the expense of some poor helpless animal. But nah... let's keep attacking Americans instead...

 

Yeah screw China for ruining everything. The media praising them can eat a Chinese bat-hardened dick.

 

OK folks enough of the vitriol and blame. Yes, after the dust settles the rest of the world must move away from China in the supply chain. They've completely failed the world and their leadership can't be trusted. But for now we should be focusing 100% on containing this outbreak.
