I am also not familiar with the London practice or experience. But, if you want to use the London example as a proxy to justify the New York-style stop-and-frisk, I'm not with you regardless of what has happened in London. The New York policy was racist and abusive and not good for us.

Nah, the PRIMARY reason for those statistics are that violent crimes are disproportionately committed by a small portion of a small group in the country. The likely cause of that is poverty combined with a poisonous American subculture that glamorizes criminality.

The biggest problem isn't that she supposedly went in the wrong apartment. The biggest problem is that once in the wrong apartment her first reaction was to shoot a man.

Whether it was or not, that's not the thing to get angry about because it won't change the next cops decision. This is something America has been dealing with for a long time for a reason , and the stats dont lie. A deep rooted cultural change and toxic masculinity on both sides is what you need to get cops to relax.

Let's wait for details to come out before saying she was racially motivated , but cops of all colors profile because of their experience and the stats. Address the stats if you REALLY care. Unfortunately people just take this as an excuse to be angry at the black vs white thing which isnt the core issue.

 

Profiling doesn't correlate to stop and frisk, it means being extra cautious around a person based on their physical characteristics.

Do you act differently around a large muscular man vs a small puny one? Statistically who is more likely to hurt you in a fight, exceptions aside?

So a cop in survival mode will resort to what his experience / stats tell him. Cops of all races. Why is it so hard to address the stats and entitlement instead of things your complaints cant control ? Do you think a cop training program for a 25 yr old with an extra 20 hours on racial sensitivity will change 20 years of experience? Experience = stats.

I agree that race has nothing to do with violence - culture does. Poor whites and asians , segregated and mixed , commit far less violent crime and less crime than black (and Hispanic) counterparts. You can argue for more integration which is important, but it wont actually happen until poor blacks living amongst other poor blacks significantly change violent and aggressive behavior.

 

Except she's not a Joe Citizen.... Cops are never really off duty. She was acting in what she thought was the line of duty. She was wrong. The PD still has to treat this as they would any officer involved shooting. Quit being a whiner and let things play out without spewing unfounded allegations.

They did an investigation and charged her. Move on to the next phase, if she gets off or gets a lenient plea deal, then you have something to talk about.

Why is this even an issue? She should be charged with murder and all the lesser included charges. Then let a jury decide her stay in prison.

In reality, she pleads it down and is out on parole inside of 4 years.
