you can blame Gaine for not moving up for dillard and potentially not trading clowney on draft day - once fired, the ball moved to Bill completely. He couldn't help but assign blame to Gaine for those mistakes and used that as justification to do a bad deal. after doing a bad deal for a running back. after making an atrocious call as a HC in starting a scrub LT against the cowboys which resulted in his starting RB going down for a career.

he could have still held clowney through the season and gotten his 3rd via compensatory (roughly equal to what seattle is giving us); clowney would have surely impacted winning more than the scrubs he's replaced with.

my fear is he will leverage next years draft for tonsil and our defense will be severely impacted

As a person that plays fantasy football... its comforting to know that I don't make the worst personnel decisions in Houston.

Interesting idea but if they didn't move on Clowney plus a first then I can't see it.
For the life of me I can't fathom why they didn't offer Clowney a No trade clause for this season. Win/win for both parties.

O'Brien didn't fire Gaine, Easterby fired Gaine (with Cal McNair's help). Don't forget Easterby's role in the whole front office mess. Gaine made offseason mistakes.....that cost him his job. I think the draft failure with Dillard cost Gaine. The Texans will try to spin this (it won't work). Ultimately, it comes down to performance on the field. If they struggle, O'Brien is fired. If they somehow win......well, O'Brien is savvy.

This is exactly what is going to happen. Texans win the division and the coach is lauded as a hero. It is like dejavu all over again

We've got to strike while the iron is hot.

Someone call up the Vikings and see if they'll do JJ Watt for Chris Boyd and a future 6th rounder.

Also who is getting cut for the two guys we acquired? Two guys that were potential cuts for the Seahawks?

Beyond words ... cannot put into words to describe my frustration. Anyone in here or off the streets could have extracted more value than a 3rd and 2 scrubs. Trash organization.

Yeah but will Easterby fire O’Brien? Will they still pursue Caserio in the off-season?

Will Caserio and Easterby get rid of O’Brien?

    What will Cal say?
