Texans traded him because he was demanding to be the highest paid wr and wasn’t going to show up to play without a new contract
I agree, but every single one of these guys needs to stay on the field. I do believe BoB, I've been a truther for him as GM as his moves just seem to work "remove all feelings aside", was spot on about it being a VET year. This offense will thrive when healthy.
I'm hopeful that Johnson returns to form but this also looks exactly like Ahmad Green 2.0, except this time we traded the top WR in the game in doing so. The offense *should* improve but we'll live and die by our defense.
BoB dck riders still defending this sht trade. Regardless if offense pops off, it was a sht trade. Hopkins should net more regardless of how disgruntled he was.
No one is defending this trade. We just choose to MOVE ON. Whining about it like b****, 6 months later won't change it.
It's really even more so much exciting to bet on the O/U of IR games by these offensive track meeters. I'll let you look up the cumulative games missed over the past 2 or 3 years by your track squad.
He was on the market for more than a year. Apparently you value Hopkins more than NFL GM's do. Anywho, Hopkins is Kiem/Kingsbury's problem now.
I don’t think anyone really believes he was on the market for a year. Everyone on the roster was completely caught off guard when it happened. Bob made a rushed trade and got back worse value than he should have and took on a bad contract in dj It’s over and done with. I agree we should stop b****ing about it and hope for the best, but lets not alter the stories to make it seem like it was a better deal than it was. Hopefully it all works out and dj is back in form and every one stays healthy.
This isn't what was reported by one of the Chron guys. (I cant remember which one) e. Agreed about the griping and whining. What's done is done
People are still defending this sht trade. Hence y i posted. Y dont u read previous post b4 getting defensive about being called a BoB dck rider.
David Johnson would have been cut by the Cardinals, just like the Jags cut Fournette. The fact that we gave the Cards a top 5 WR for him is all-time stupid.
1.) For all the flak DJ has gotten on the injury front, He's at least completed three full seasons unlike Fournette who's been just as injury prone, if not more. DJ is also more of a threat in the passing game and has never played in a system like the Texans. I'm sure Watson will elevate DJ's game. 2.) Hopkins will be signed to a long term extension that, thankfully, the Texans didn't cave too. As a fan, I'd rather them spend at other spots and I am not mad at the haul. That money saved went to Tunsil, Zach, among others. Watson is also due the pay raise. 3.) Ross Blacklock was the 2nd rd pick acquired in the deal and that will need to be re-evaluated in the coming years. Will it bust? Maybe. BUT it's way too early to evaluate this. 4.) I think we can conclude this is far from "all-time" stupid. All-time stupid would've been trading up to draft Andre Dillard (because fans love to critique player's they've never evaluated in their life) instead of sitting back and drafting your guy. Give BoB his credit... EDIT: DJ actually completed 16 games in three of his first five years. One year cut down due to wrist injury and the last season because Kliffy basically booted him out of the role and gave Drake, etc more run. I'll chalk that down to more of a "system fit" issue. He played in 13 games for the 2019 season.
Wait so Hopkins jumped on a table, yelled out to be traded and this was not reported by a single person until 6 months later by some dude on Reddit?
