Cushing cut right now is about $3.9 million dead cap hit. $1.2 million at seasons end. J Strong about $233Thou according to Houston Texans Spotrac
Good luck with that. If the Texans go 1-4 to start. Can only lose 3 games (for a 9-7 above .500 record) the rest of the way with games against Seahawks/Ravens//Cardinals/Steelers/Titans/Jags remaining. I like you enthusiasm
He was a projected first rounder that dropped because of a wrist injury. There was reason at the time to think he could be good. Good riddance, though. Sad when in three years your most notable contribution to the team was getting caught with mar1juana.
That is because this season is confirming a lot of concerns about the direction of the franchise. That doesn't even get into losing your #1 and #2 pick so on draft day we all get it rubbed in our collective faces. Ahh the Texans special... just remember: "Doesn't matter Buck, doesn't matter. AFC South champions Buck."
Projected by some to be a 1st rounder and John Lopez pumped him hard but the negatives were huge. Nothing special in terms of speed and despite the rep as a fighter for the ball, the game tape revealed that he wasn't a good catcher of the football. All around nothing special with a questionable work ethic. A terrible pick
I think most people thought getting him in the third was great value. Problem is, I think most were basing that off his hail mary catch. Like I said, dude has been terrible. Good riddance. Hopefully Braxton will pick it up soon...
I wanted zero to do with him and was livid when we traded up for him. He was very popular with media people who had seen clips but I think most people who studied him were very sour. John Lopez being hyped for him made it even worse.
I'm interested in seeing who you think the Texans will beat the rest of the way. I have the Texans going 6-10. That might be generous. Home* Pats Titans* Chiefs* Browns* Seahawks Colts* Rams Cards* Ravens Titans (Jags thumped Texans; Titans thumped Jags) 49ers* Jags Steelers* Colts
Titans, Browns, Seahawks, Colts, Rams, 49ers, Jags, Colts Very doable. Titans and Seahawks would be the toughest but Titans is at home and Seahawks is after a Texans bye and their offensive line is struggling like the Texans.
So Strong was so bad that the Texans cut him from the already depleted WR core? Man **** What a waste. Watch him come on with another team that would be just a Houston thing to do. What makes me scratch my head is that each of the last two years all I heard was just how good he looked physically and playbook wise.
As a Houston homer I hope you are right. *Duane Brown says he may hold out until wk 7 *Kevin Johnson is out 4-6 wks *Cushing suspended. May actually help the team *Fuller tender at collarbone. Runs one route only. Go deep. *with K Johnson out DB depth may be an issue *with D Brown holding out and Mancz thrown into action; O-Line depth in question. Jeff Allen & XSF suck. *If Griffin/Cushing/Anderson/Fiedorowicz getting concussed in one game; odds on Watson staying healthy? *Colts look much better with Brissett. Rookies get fooled. Watson is a rookie too. *Seahawks defense gets turnovers & highly ranked. Guys like Earl Thomas/Chancellor/Richard Sherman will bait Watson into throwing a possible pick 6. Sherman (CB) & Thomas Rawls (RB) were out wk 2 (hamstring/ankle). *49ers & Rams are better than people think. Texans better not sleep on them. *Jags & Titans are built similar. Good defense and an offense that can run the ball. Titans O-Line is better than Jags in my opinion. We shall see. Hope you are right.
