If by 50%, you mean 35% and by 200 yards, you mean 136, then you are correct.

That's completely ridiculous. Tebow has had a huge following because of the religious thing since he was in freaking high school. Apparently you just heard about Tebow this year.

Your original statement was he gets coverage because of his religious ways which is complete bull**** if you think that is the only reason he gets coverage.

Lets's see Tebow was a National Champion in College. Throughout his college career everyone said well he won't be able to run over folks in the NFL. They said there was no chance he would play QB at the next level. He won't be a QB in the NFL because he will drafted in the 3rd round as a Tight End and Fullback.

Well then Denver makes a big reach and drafts Tim Tebow in the 1st rd to play QB and he ends up doing what damn near everyone said he wouldn't be doing. He did it ugly and actually won that way by making plays at the end of games for his team to win on a team that had a bad record before he became the starting QB.

Religion or no Religion if Tim Tebow started as QB and Denver still sucked there would be no Tebow mania in the media and that is a damn fact.

He had a ridiculous following of rabid religious zealots when he was 3rd on the depth chart.

If he was a fervent Muslim and doing exactly the same thing on the field, do you think there would be "Tebow Mania" because Denver is winning?

1st round draft pick 3rd on the depth chart will cause controversy. Also when he was 3rd on the depth chart there wasn't nowhere near as much coverage as he is getting now.

Can't blame the loss on him yesterday; the Denver defense was absolutely lit up. Brady is in another league. I predict Tebow will be much improved next season. A complete off season and his work ethic will take him to a new level.

I don't think its the religion thing as much as people tunning in. Same with reality shows, people hate them but yet they still tune in.

last year, he was in the 3rd on the depth chart, and then he started three games, but you didnt hear a lot about tebow, all the media coverage started this year.

Also if kyle orton had the team 4-1 instead of 1-4, tebow wouldnt be the denver QB, and you wouldnt see all the media coverage.

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7...n-elway-says-tim-tebow-starting-qb-going-camp

That's why Elway, a Hall of Famer who rejoined the team a year ago as chief of football operations, has pledged to personally work with Tebow this offseason to polish his passing game and help him become a better quarterback.

He has a willing pupil in Tebow, who said his offseason goal was "to work pretty hard and try to get a lot better."

Elway said he wants to "help Tim in every way I can, to be able to improve through what I learned."

And that was this: Mobility is great, but to compete for a championship, you have to become a pocket passer. That's what Elway learned late in his career, which he capped with back-to-back Super Bowl titles after losing the big game three times.

"Hopefully, I can teach him what I learned over my 16-year career," Elway said, "to be able to tell him what I learned in Year 10, hopefully get that to him in year 3 or 4."

Last year he took over the team in week 15, long after the Broncos were dead in the playoff race. That's why there was little fanfare. Although the coverage he did get was actually pretty substantial for a dude playing for a team with a 3-11 record.

At the end of the day, he's a great role model and a hardworker, and proven immune to criticism. He'll get better given time, and in the mean time continue to be a TRULY LIKABLE guy.

Tim Tebow is the UNDERDOG, undertalented guy who's BIG HEART and DETERMINATION OVERCOMES the obstacles.

It is a classic AMERICAN theme all to itself. Tebow is doing that on a GRAND scale in the NFL, its sure to attact people's attention.

Though the OVERT fanfare is ABSOLUTELY FUELED by his LEGION of christian supporters who sincerely believe its GOD'S WORK being done on the field.

Media isnt THAT dumb, and media does NOT have to take sides on the religion - all they care about is who gets the MOST ATTENTION and will put more coverage on him.

By itself: nice feel good story
    Christians added: EMPIRE

And of course a player will not get ANY spotlight if he's riding on the pine not doing anything instead of playing.
