People don't watch Harden enough to see the little things that he does that make him great, they simply watch highlights and come up with surface-level observations. Let's post all of the arguments against Harden and take them down, one by one. ARGUMENTS 1. Harden Dribbles Too Much - Harden dribbles with a purpose. With each dribble he's watching the way the defender responds... Is he square up? Is he pushing Harden to the right hand? Is he too close? He's also watching the position/movements of the help defenders. All of these things determine how Harden is going to attack: Straight stepback? Strongside Stepback? Weakside Stepback? Attacking dribble, then a drawback dribble stepback? Dribble drive to the rim? Controlled dribble drive floater? Those are just to name a few of the weapons in his arsenal. 2. Harden Runs ISO Ball Instead of TEAM Basketball - ISO ball is the most efficient way to play basketball, assuming the ISO player is a GREAT decision maker. It cuts down on turnovers and assures the highest likelihood of getting a shot. Harden brings the ball up the court and assesses the defense, seeing which players are in which positions. He redirects his guys to specific spots on the floor, in order to put the weakest defenders in the most compromising spots. Through the use of screens and picks, he manufactures the best match up for himself or for a teammate. As he dribbles, he's watching his own defender as well as the help defenders so that he can figure out how to best attack the defense. Once he's broken the defense down, he is able to hit teammates with PERFECT passes for 3s, lobs or drop-offs. He's Tom Brady on a basketball court, plain and simple. Are you going to say that Football is stupid because Tom Brady dominates the ball all game long? Harden is the best decision maker in the game right now, and ISO ball is the most efficient and effective way of letting Harden quarterback the Rockets to victory. Just like Brady, Harden should be celebrated as an amazing decision maker, the best possible fit for ISO ball, the most efficient style of basketball. 3. Harden Shoots Too Many Boring Free Throws - Harden has an elite skill of being able to put defenders in compromising positions where they are forced to either foul or not challenge a shot at all. The vast majority of defenders are poor decision makers, choosing to challenge him which results in fouls. For every time that Harden gets the benefit of a close or non-existent call, there are 4 or 5 other no-calls on plays where he was legitimately fouled. The league knows that they can't call all of these fouls or else Harden would be shooting at least 15-20 free throws a game, and that's not the product that they want to set before the fans. Harden's skill of manipulating defenders is extraordinary and should be celebrated, not vilified. What are the arguments that you hear? Provide support and let's combat these lies!
Here you go. Harden dates Strippers and is therefore not likable Harden does not play the game the right way Harden plays only one side of the floor Harden flops to get his free throws Harden cheats the system Harden's play-style is unwatchable Harden pads his stats by staying on the floor when the game is over Harden does not show up for the playoffs Harden is not liked by NBA players Harden would not be this good if not for Mike's system Harden is fat I want the first draft of your report by Sunday 6 pm EST.
there is only 1 argument against harden that's relevant for the mvp award: -- does not sell enough jerseys or garner enough tv ratings
People keep saying that the Harden Volume 1 Pioneers aren’t the best looking basketball shoes ever made. I want definitive answers!
i don't understand, why do you need to post this on this* site? Everybody here is already aware of this, which is why its frustrating. Its the people in the media that need to be taught this
Anything and everything about the Houston Rockets. Your comments from last night's game, potential roster moves, player quotes and pictures. Hell, the slower people in the group can even talk about ex-Rocket Tracy Murray.
This is going to be a rough post-season for our Rockets confidence... Harden will lose out on MVP and if we don't overcome the Warriors, it's going to kill our guys confidence, especially Harden's next year. We'll likely lose House this off-season too along with Faried since we're sal capped and can't offer nothing but vet mins. On top of that, there will always be a question of Tilman saying this season isn't an "all-in" season, that will be the next season. Playoff fatigue is real and I suspect we'll start off even worse next season vs this season if we lose again to the Warriors this playoffs.
I expect some unreal stuff from harden and the crew in this years playoffs...silver better get foster brothers ready
Great quarterbacks aren't knocked for being un fun to watch and exploiting the game if they're too good at a hard count and pick up 5 yards the easy way too often or can read a linebackers movements so well that they can audible to a play that gives their team an advantage.
They are very very clean. I'm not typically a red and blue shoe kind of guy but these work really well. Love the whole shoe colorway minus the stripes on the rear but they are super comfy also
