Any chance of T-mac winning January Player of the month?? His stats: 29.4pts 5.8rebs 6.9assts shooting 46% while leading the rockets to the 10-4 records in the month of January? If T-mac won it then the rockets will have two different players to win the award this season.(Yao-November, T-mac-Janaury)
Heh, look for Nash or Nowitzki. It would be sick though, finally some recognition. He definitely deserves it. Especially considering how tough our schedule was in January and we're playing without an MVP-candidate in Yao. If only we didn't lose that damn Nuggets game, 11-3 looks so much better.
I know too bad, we had double digits lead in all 3 losses, where we just broke down because lack of depth in those games... I agree they will probably give it to dirk or nash
Dirk's stats: 28pts 9.7rebs 3.3assts 50%fg team records: 14-2 Nash's stats: 18pts 13assts 3.3rebs 54.5%fg team records: 15-1 Both are having amazing month! But no one expect the rockets will have 10-4 records. What T-mac accomplished this month is out of people expectation. I hope T-mac will win just like no one expect Yao to win the Novmeber Player of the month!
It would've been nice but there is no way he's gonna beat out Nowitzki (because he led his team to a better record) or Nash (based on individual stats). I really hope I'm wrong though.
does anyone have a link to a website that shows you the western and eastern players of the months and weeks this season?
Considering Yao has been out for the entire month and where the Rockets are, Tracy need to get serious consideration
Based on the team records for the players who previously won the award, I'd say T-Mac has a decent shot at it. But I think the Suns' 15-1 mark will clinch it for Nash.
T-Mac averages are really better than that. In January - 37.0/mins .472/fg .341/3fg .706/ft 0.8/oreb 4.9/dreb 5.7/reb 7.1/asst 1.3/spg 0.46/bpg 29.9/ppg
I think Nash will probably get POTMonth in January since he won POTWeek twice, but it'd be nice for T-Mac to get some recognition. He doesn't get the superstar calls that others get
Yeah, Nash will probably end up getting it because of the Suns ridiculous play, but I really hope that T-Mac is at least a frontrunner in the talks about who gets POM for January. He has been so great for this team, and next to Nash, I can't imagine any other player being relied on more in this league by a team than T-Mac is being leaned on right now.

As far as individual numbers go, TMac is more similar to Kobe than to either Dirk or Nash. Although TMac has the highest PPG and PPM, he has fairly low FG% (including 3P%) and FT%, which may hurt his chance. It'd be interesting to see their PERs for the month of January 2007. (Paging durvasa!) Team record wise, Dirk and Nash hands down, but both benefited from playing with full healthy squads while TMac's and Kobe's teams had major injuries to key players. Keep in mind a 10-5 team record in November was good enough for Yao's first POM. Tough call. But IMO, considering the fact that Yao was playing at MVP level himself before injury, the impact of the loss of Yao should yield significant weight to TMac's POM selection.
if say, t-mac is named the player of the month, my question is: how many teams have their two players named the player of the month in one single season? I believe it doesn't happy very often.
