Have to react to use of chemical weapons here. I hope we react with significantly greater force.

 

My only problem with it is that it makes absolutely no sense that Assad would use chemical weapons after he's essentially won using conventional weapons. The US was leaving, he was closing in on victory.....then he randomly does the one thing that could get the US involved?

Doesn't pass the smell test.

Other than that, I'd have to agree that a chemical weapons strike would have to be responded to....I just don't think Assad actually did it.

I'm about 50/50. I wouldn't put it past Assad to use them; I wouldn't put it past the rebels to kill a few of their own to draw the US back into the mix.

 

A person can rationally make monstrous decisions, brutally slaughtering people is not anything out of character for Assad, but why do so in that specific manner? They were going to be slaughtered one way or the other and no one was going to care.
