The medical repair work on the Rockets continues. Forward Shane Battier and guard Rafer Alston underwent successful surgeries Friday. Battier had arthroscopic surgery to remove bone spurs in his left ankle. Alston's surgery involved repairing ligament and tendon damage in his right ankle. "Both procedures went well," team physician Dr. Tom Clanton said. "Shane just needed to have a few bone spurs removed from around his left ankle joint. Rafer's procedure involved the repairing of some ligaments and tendons in his right ankle. "I expect both players to be ready and available to participate in training camp activities." The procedures came three days after guard Tracy McGrady had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder and left knee. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5770503.html the only thing that worries me is that they didn't mention McGrady's surgery being succesful...probably still recovering
On Tmac's website and his blog he posted that his surgery went successful. There is a thread about it
I just want the team upgraded......no one is untouchable......except Yao and Tmac....and if the right offer came along for TMac..well... DD
Really? I don't think we can get great offert for McGrady. Right now I'd only trade him for LeBron or Kobe...that's all. We need a guy who can carry a team and he obviously can, but can we stay healthly one season? That's the case
Yes, which is kinda why Tmac is untouchable, because no way you can get equal value for him at this point. DD
I don't know if anyone has suggested this, but I think the trainers on the team (Keith Jones, etc.) should be fired. Our players are obviously not conditioned well enough to endure the season-long stretch, much less, the playoffs. I don't think it's genetics or chance. I think it has everything to do with conditioning. Our list of injuries go way back (Sura, Yao, T-Mac, Juwan, Alston, Francis, etc......). These trainers need to take some accountability too other than the players and coaches. They also need to evaluate the nutritionist of the team. Why are our players so injury prone? That's the question the team needs to answer. Other teams go through the same grind of the season. Look at the Spurs, you never see Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili out for long stretches. We will never get far in the playoffs if our main players are always broken down by the time playoffs come around.
There was a thread on this and yes, the doctors and trainers need to be replaced. Either the Rockets have the worst luck of any NBA franchise(even their 2nd title in '95 came in spite of numerous injuries) or their have the worst training staff of all-time.
Is it possible to get another interview out of Francis? Would like to know what his thoughts are on his rehab and playing next season.
Whats tha update on Landry. WIll he require any off-seaon surgury or does he just need tha off-season to heal??
