Since its labor day weekend, its also marks the end of the summer movie season. Here are the best, worst, and movies i did/didnt want to see movies, IMO at least. Best Movies Rush Hour 2 Planet of the Apes A.I. Scary Movie 2 Shrek Mummy Returns Worst Movies Final Fantasy Tomb Raider (uggh) Mixed Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Jurassic Park 3 Swordfish Evolution The Score Wanted to See American Pie 2 Pearl Harbor Kiss the Dragon Rat Race (still time) Didnt even bother The Animal Jeepers Creepers Moulin Rouge (Probably more here, but I can't think of them right now)
Forgot about Swordfish, pretty awesome techno movie. As for Pear Harbor, yea i kinda liked it. It was cool for me though because I got to watch it at an IMAX theater when it first came out. The only complaint i have is the length of the movie and how it ended. Tomb Raider did sucked ass, unfortunatly, they are planning a sequel. Want to see the Others also.
Dude--Rat Race was the most hilarious movie I've ever seen. You gotta check it out. Favorites: Swordfish Planet of the Apes (I have the ability to suspend reality in my mind.) Rat Race They were okay: Rush Hour 2 American Pie 2 Jurassic Park 3 The Score Waste of money: Scary Movie 2 (...and I loved the 1st one) The Animal (...how did I let my little sister talk me into this one?)
I recommend Rat Race above all other movies this summer. It is a masterpiece of comedic art, with a brilliant cast. I love that movie!
Was Rat Race that good? The only reason I would watch it is to watch Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean). After looking at previews, I am having second thoughts. Also, has anybody seen Osmosis Jones? The only reason i wanted to see it is because its a Farlley Brothers movie. But I dont think its the same comedic style as Something bout Mary, Me, Myself, and Irene, or Dumb and Dumber. So im having mix thoughts bout watchin it.
Best Movies: jeepers creepers made jay and silent bob strike back session 9 the anniversary party the others ai moulin rouge crazy/beautiful Fun Movies: osmosis jones swordfish jp3 evolution american pie 2 shrek the fast and the furious ghosts of mars scary movie 2 Bad Movies: tomb raider bubble boy dr.dolittle 2 summer catch pearl harbor princess diaries mummy returns angel eyes
Wouldnt be surprise if he did see all of those movies. The trick is, if you have an off day, go to one of those huge multiplexes (there is one like in ever corner here in Houston), pay for one movie, then skip to others. I do this like once, maybe twice a month. The most movies I saw in one day was like 5 and that was with the first showing at 10 am and leaving at about 9-10pm.
the only blockbuster movies I have seen this summer that I have thought were okay were Jurassic Park 3, Evolution, and Planet of the Apes. The rest were blah, sucked, or haven't seen. blah: Final Fantasy, Rush Hour 2 sucked: Swordfish(badly), mummy returns(horribly) haven't seen(but want to): Jay & silent bob, jeepers creepers, the score, ghosts of mars(I guess)
I haven't seen as many movies as most of you, but... Highly recommended: AI Pearl Harbor Ghost World (I noticed no one else mentioned this one; it was my personal favorite) Legally Blonde OK: Shrek Mummy Returns The Others Cats & Dogs No thanks: Rat Race Bridgett Jones Diary Planet of the Apes
Movies I enjoyed a lot this summer: Curse of the Jade Scorpion Made Shrek American Pie 2 Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back Legally Blonde Ghost World Movies that were okay: Cats & Dogs Dr. Doolittle 2 Original Sin Movies I was hoping for more from: What's the Worst That Could Happen Movies I didn't bother to see because nothing I heard about them appealed to me: Pearl Harbor A.I. Jurassic Park 3 Rush Hour 2 Osmosis Jones Bubble Boy John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars America's Sweethearts The Score Planet of the Apes Kiss of the Dragon Moulin Rouge Swordfish Evolution Tomb Raider Atlantis The Mummy Returns A Knight's Tale
The previews do not do Rat Race justice. Trust me, the cast alone makes this movie worth it. John Cleese, Rowan Atkinson, Whoopie Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr, John Lovitz- brilliant!
Rat Race was very funny. My 19 year old son liked it as did my wife. If you even remotely liked Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, you should thoroughly enjoy Rat Race.
If you did not realize how "Pearl Harbor" ended, and that upset you, please skip any movie that is set during the Vietnam War. Also, isn't paying for one ticket, and then going to see other movies, the same as stealing? Maybe I am just old fashioned!
