    I think there are a lot of morals and overarching themes going on throughout the story. That's a big part of why I liked the movie. There is a lot more to it than what it portrays on its face.

    I liked the short story better, but it was a pretty good movie.

    The movie had a different ending, and I don't think the books ending would have worked as well on the big screen.

    That, or something not as completely laughable as the one that was actually in the movie.

    i saw army soldiers with flamethrowers, but how would they kill the giant one that walked over their car? a missile?

    The ending made the whole movie feel like a comedic skit in a way. Not the shooting part, but the fact that help was right there.

    I agree it was very tragic. This movie was much better then I had anticipated, because of all the undertones. Lot more to this movie then bugs.

    I read the short story several times growing up, so I figured the ending would be them driving into Hartford after the night in the HoJos.

    But holy crap, that ending....I was totally kicked in the nuts. Glad I waited til my family was outta town to see it though.
