Harden is the obvious MVP through this point of the season. And that is substantiated by the eye test, production (both team and individual), and all arguments used to crown past MVPs. Any argument to the contrary is asinine, most likely biased, and clearly not based upon any historic or reasonable criteria.
Nice respect. That other dude is nuts though. The Rockets are 27-9. How much better could Lebron make the Rockets? Also, Lebron can sit every now and then because he has Kyrie and Love to pickup the slack for him. Harden has Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson. If Harden sits, the Rockets probably lose. I mean it's fine to hypothesize whether the Rockets would be better with Lebron, but how much better can you be than 27-9? Maybe the Rockets are 28-8 with Lebron? 29-7? But I also doubt we'd be any better.
I was a fan of Greg Smith during his years in Houston. I like us/Harden getting props, but the whole yelling back and forth thing is r****ded and makes my ears bleed.
It would be interesting to see how Cleveland fares with Harden i suspect they would have even better record then they have now
Curry didn't get a unanimous MVP in 14-15 like he did last year, Harden was the runner up and should have won, IMO. Plenty of people voted for him. Harden is the clear MVP to me this year, but the same rationale we had for his case in 14-15 should apply to Westbrook this year, should it not? Westbrook literally has to do everything for that team. Oladipo has been injured, Sabonis is a rookie starting at PF, and Roberson quite frankly sucks on Brewer's level yet starts for them at SF. Without Westbrook, OKC might be the worst team in the league. Our supporting cast is really good, but not good enough for me to hold it against Harden in the MVP race. If Harden was averaging his numbers playing next to two all-stars, like Curry did in 14-15, I'd vote for Westbrook. But we don't have any players that will even be all-NBA. Westbrook's case for MVP is strong, but I easily give the nod to Harden.
I found this hilarious. Marc Stein ranked OKC seven spots ahead of the Rockets during the preseason then 2 months later says Westbrook is MVP because Harden has "an undeniably better" team.
