DFS isn't what has surprised me the most about him. He's old coming off injury. There is always a good chance a player really drop off as a result. What's surprising was how much fans were defending him throughout his ineptitude. I'm like do you guys have eyes? If you told someone who knew nothing about DFS history that he just signed the 2nd highest FA contract to switch teams behind only NAW, would anyone believe you?

It just make me realize there are fans who are incapable of understanding that just because they are Houstonians and therefore trapped to root for this team, doesnt mean the powers that run the team must be great at everything. I would make an analogy but unfortunately the closest analogy would go into the DnD section.

The positional labels of last night's starting lineup was funny.

    Smith PF
    Durant PF
    Eason PF
    Finney-Smith PF
    Thompson SF

I know Durant, Eason, And FS could have been labeled SF. But still, a 5-forward (4 of them PF) lineup is ... interesting.

Then start Josh, send Tari to the bench, and keep Reed as a reserve.

The solution isn't to insert DFS into the starting lineup.

You don’t know what you’re talking about Los….how was that a great play at the end??? DFS tackled the guy and 99% of the time that’s a foul and they get free throws AND the ball and in this case the win. The refs for once in a blue moon gave us the benefit of a no call, but DFS should’ve cost us the game and screwed up royally by tackling the guy on a game deciding inbounds pass. People….quit defending mediocrity!!!

It made me so mad. He really doesn't like Reed. I'd start Capela over DFS. Or Okogie. Or Reed!

I think Stone might be involved. He signed DFS and desperately wants that to not look like a compelte f-up. I wouldn't be surpised if there is some pressure to play DFS to prop up that signing. Maybe DFS plays well down the stretch and has enough value to trade him? No way, he's been horrible all year. Stone just wants to make that signing look decent.

The only reason to have Reed off the bench last night is to have bench scoring. And he did play 32 minutes so there's that.

It was the ROFL moment for this season. The only thing more ludicrous would have been an Adams, Sengun, Capela, Smith Jr, and Durant lineup.

guy has been basically worthless. But I am hoping they’re ramping up his minutes and maybe he can roll into the playoffs a little bit closer to being what he has historically been through throughout his career

Fans are in denial about Stone and Udoka, cause admitting they aren’t good leads to a much scary realization: As long as they are at the helm this isn’t going anywhere. Trade windows come two times a year and there’s renewed hope every time, fans can hop on trade machines and try and build a salvageable roster and hope the org follows suit, stan for a player and fool themselves into thinking they will suddenly take a leap, but they feel pretty powerless when it comes to FO and coaching changes, so they try their best to deny it’s a problem. No one forced the org to draft this combination of players, bet on the wrong ones, make the wrong offseason moves, or fail at player development.

Right. DFS won't be on Tucker's level. They have different play styles, but it's their career stats are more similar than it looks, With Tucker having more steals from shiftiness & savvy. DFS more blocks from longer length.

Idea is about being a poor man's version PJ. Desperation move that maybe offers the team a 3/10 benefit. Cuz he has zero/NEGATIVE benefit at his natural 3/4 role.

I hope he turns it around.

One other thing, the Rockets have a guard problem, DFS is a forward that can play Small ball C like Covington....

PJ started out as a guard and then played a wing, they needed pure lead guards like a drop of water.
