Just saw “The Rise of Skywalker” ... enjoyed it!! Last one right?? Now I’m left wondering how are they going to continue making 100’s of millions of dollars each year off of the Star War franchise?? ....... ....... .......
just saw it, super enjoyed it. so ep7 was good but already saw it as a kid, ep8 was entertaining with some wtfs (casino, rose, leia poppins), and this one was like a rush cleaning up of the mess, but very enjoyable. i missed a good chunk of it cus work kept calling so i was a bit lost coming back in. questions: Spoiler 1. i missed some parts so: how did rylo ken become the good guy? 2. did rey destroy the millennium falcon? how did lando get it back agin? 3. can you discern all the jedi voices rey heard? i only got yoda and luke. 4. so by "rise of skywalker" it's basically rey being an adopted daughter of the family name? 5. what was the point of the knights of ren brehs? they followed rey around, then at the end they died. 6. speaking of the kor, how did they beat rylo ken without his lightsaber? so basically he is useless without a sword? he could have force crushed them... he has a skywalker blood in him for god's sake! also where did his lightsaber go? 7. how come they never developed a "space parachute" or something for the x-wing pilots? so when they get shot, they can just deploy themselves out instead of screaming for 5 seconds ramming into a ship or a wall. 8. when the storm troopers chased rey and the gang in the desert, why didn't rey just force push them into crashing? instead she shot laser pistols at them, lelz. and she missed. she could've at least used to force to guide the laser. 9. at the end when rylo kills himself, something under a white sheet disappeared in front of maz, and she smiled. what was that? 10. who were those cloaked brehs watching from the stands at palpatine's base? 11. almost forgot... how did leia poppins die? i came back and people were sad she died. so it seemed like this had absolutely no connection at all to ep8, lelz. it's like ep7 went straight to ep9 and they crammed 2 movies into one. glad there were no love stories here, cept for all the kissing at the end.
Saw it yesterday. Thought it was meh ok. Last scene is a bit disappointing though. One question: do we know what Finn wanted to say to Rey ? At some point it seemed really important and somehow fell off the cliff after.
shiii, that explains why he sometimes hits his target when he shoots, even tho we know a trained storm trooper never hits his mark.
Some answers for ya man: Spoiler 1. i missed some parts so: how did rylo ken become the good guy? Apparently after Rey surprised ganked him while they were fighting in the typhoon she felt bad and forced healed him, then he was thankful after she ran off. He saw Han Solo (maybe his ghost?) and thought, "oh, I can be good again"...throwing his lightsaber into the water...ugh. 4. so by "rise of skywalker" it's basically rey being an adopted daughter of the family name? Yep, she just decided to call herself Skywalker...sort of like a slap in the face of her actual lineage of being a palpatine? I dunno. 5. what was the point of the knights of ren brehs? they followed rey around, then at the end they died. The point? Probably just Kylo fodder. They didn't really seem to do much except be a lingering threat that was easily dispatched. 7. how come they never developed a "space parachute" or something for the x-wing pilots? so when they get shot, they can just deploy themselves out instead of screaming for 5 seconds ramming into a ship or a wall. LOL, I love imitating those guys thou...aaaaaaaahhhhhh!! BOOM! 8. when the storm troopers chased rey and the gang in the desert, why didn't rey just force push them into crashing? instead she shot laser pistols at them, lelz. and she missed. she could've at least used to force to guide the laser. Except for video games, I think she's the only force user that uses a blaster. I thought the same thing...if she could force pull a huge freaking transport, how the eff could she just not disable or basically force crush people chasing them? 9. at the end when rylo kills himself, something under a white sheet disappeared in front of maz, and she smiled. what was that? That was leia, who disappeared. She died when Kylo did I believe. I forgot how but she used her force power to help Kylo and it rendered her unconscious i believe. That's all i got man, i watched it on and off bc I was honestly not very interested...it was 'ok', but meh...so disappointed with how SW has turned out.
thanks breh. i realized that i missed like the most important parts of the movie. even missed the boat fight between rylo and rey. will have to rewatch the movie. but how were you not interested? i thought it was dope. also can someone spoiler the easter eggs? i feel like i missed a whole lot of em
I saw it last night, while not a huge fan, enough of one to know they rushed it and couldn't done a whole lot better. End reminded me of Avengers Endgame when the cavalry arrived (#spoiler). Really predictable, a little cheesy, a solid 6 out of 10
This is what needs to happen, KOTOR is the way to go. They canonized Revan in this last film so that would be a great starting point.
The film overall had its moments. You can't tell me you didn't feel something when Poe was giving up and then all of a sudden Lando shows up with thousands of ships. I'm a guy though that enjoyed ROTS so I'm not a HUGE fanboy of the OT. I was left satisifed a the end of the movie. No matter how much I can now go back and agree with some of the criticisms of the movie that other people have brought up, all I know is that I was satisfied and entertained watching it.
so i read up, apparently in that one scene you could hear the voices of anakin, obi wan, yoda, qui gon, and ahsoka and kanan from rebels. i only got luke and yoda. and disappoint that what finn wanted to tell ray wasn't "i love you and forget fat jar jar rose...let's have a hot jedi force secks" rather it was that he was force sensitive. weird timing to tell rey that... too bad he dies and we won't get an episode 10 to explore his jedi-ness. he's mace windu's grandson afterall. man these old jedis be going against the order and having so much secks
finally got to watch and I'm mixed on the movie. I felt it was a bit cheezy at times and a bit forced. It's been a while since I sat through a movie hoping it would some how end quickly.
Either I don't remember the previous two films well or something... but I had several moments in this movie where I was just left scratching my head wondering how and/or why? I'm down for a new trilogy, this one torpedoed after the first movie unfortunately.
Need to see it again to really judge. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it. I did hate how anakins sacrifice seems to have been for nothing now. It was all supposed to be Anakins story, so this trilogy existing still feels unnecessary and just hastily thrown together stories and saying it's part of the OT and PT. It would have worked better as their own stand alone tales and not tying it into the skywalker story line. I also hate how for cool and modern visual effect, Rey and Kylo's powers make Anakin and Luke and any previous Jedi look like lame amateurs. Yoda struggling to hold a big metal thing from falling on obi-wan and anakin in ATOC meanwhile Rey and Kylo holding spaceships in midair with force pull like it's nothing. Anakin, the chosen one getting his legs and arm cut off because he couldn't jump over obi-wan's "high ground" at like 10 ft meanwhile Rey doing 60 ft backflips like nothing.
