6 empty bottles of Divine Reserve No. 12 for sale w/ 6 pack carrier. $25. $20 for CF members who rep me.
Um, no..people who know their malted beverages will probably be laughing too hard at idiots (if they even exist?) who think that a pretty average beer not from a super-elite brewer is worth $100 a sixer, and buy an Old Ale that's way better by Founders or Harviestoun or whatever for 10$ a 4 pack. I don't mind Saint Arnold's but they get a bit overhyped because the craft brewing scene in Houston was so bereft of competitiors for most of the last decade. They have improved recently as I've finally had some ones that I really enjoyed but, I was far more impressed with the Karbach beers I had a few months ago than most of Saint Arnolds selection. Also that Southern Star place in Conroe made a good stout.
This is the reason people laugh at St. Arnolds. They are a good quality beer that is highly available and cheaply priced. As a plus you can trade the cardboard carriers for beer at the brewery.
He didn't mean "laught at St. Arnold's", he meant "laugh at most of the people that pretend they like St. Arnold's".
Went to the brewery for the first time in about a year this past Saturday. I couldn't get over how packed that place gets now. I tried the Divine Reserve No. 12 the other day and it was alright. Definitely not worth $45 a six pack lol. My favorites from St. Arnold's are still the Elissa IPA and Lawnmower.
I don't really drink St.Arnolds, but i always see peeps talking aboot it. What is the best they have and where can i get it? I'm in NW Houston.
My least favorite beer they make. Tied for my 2nd least favorite beer they make (with Weedwacker). You can rarely go wrong with any of their seasonals IMO. But my favorite is Endeavor. Most bars that have a decent selection have it.
Abita is a whole different company than St. Arnold's but I do like their Amber ale better than St. Arnolds'. Weedwacker is probably my least favorite from St. Arnold's..
Abita Blueberry Soda is my favorite product of theirs. I still have Strawberry Abita in the fridge. Meh.
Christmas Ale is the ****. Also I like their Amber Ale. But I just picked up a sixer of Spaten Optimator from the Hebs. Mmmm.
Not really sure when it became fashionable to hate on St. A's. I love me some Santo. Black Kolsch and Black IPAs are the ba-bomb. Lawnmower is delicious and Amber is above average. Summer Pilsner, Spring Bock, and Winter Stout are kinda weaksauce, but their only really crap beer is Weedwhacker and Texas Wheat (or whatever it was), they've never made a good Hefe in their life. But on the whole, they have more hits than misses. Karbach doesn't really impress me (I think it's just my personal dislike for the style of beers they make), Southern Star has a few goodies (their stout is terrible though). Haven't tried No Label yet, but I did have Buffalo Bayou Brewing 1836 last week and it was pretty good.
