The Rockets would swing from one extreme to another under Vogel, based on his body of work:

Currently with bad defense and decent offense
Vogel would guide us to good defense and bad offense.

That's not good enough for what the Rockets want to achieve.

The Rockets are right to cast a wide net in their coach search... they should be careful about offering Frank a contract too soon.

I bet Chris Finch would stay as the offensive coordinator if Vogel is hired, and it's not enough of a change in the coaching team to realize a change in the culture of our non-motion offense

The weaknesses with Vogel and JVG are the same. There's no question that to get hired they'll both need to come prepared with a plan for this offense and the self-awareness to know they need a top-notch assistant to make it work.

The feeling all along has seemed that Morey was waiting on Vogel's availability for an interview.

Let's get this, let's get going.

Next to JVG, Vogel is my choice. Had non-factor players performing at all-star caliber levels (ie: Hibbert, Stephenson, etc)

He said that he would rather be an assistant coach than be the head coach of the rockets. Pretty disrespectful tho

Rockets offensive ranking in the Harden Era:

    12-13: 6th
    13-14: 5th
    14-15: 12th
    15-16: 7th

Interestingly enough, the worst offensive season in the Harden era was also the best team the Rockets have had since Olajuwon due to their defense. I think a Harden led team will always be decent on offense. He is that good on that end. The overall success of the team hinges largely on their defense, which Vogel has a proven track record of recent success.

Don't know much about Vogel... is he considered a players coach? Do we need another player's coach seeing we fired one early on the season?

Daryl is going to move in too fast and make the wrong choice AGAIN. Vogel is not a coach that's gonna open up the offense. Our defense may be better, but defense alone don't make contenders in today's game. We need creative minded coaching that'll keep bodies moving.

I guess that means we don't want JVG?

Vogel is on the same level as JVG for this position. I am fine with him if JVG is not interested in the job. Les could save some money on Vogel too since JVG's salary is likely higher.
