This is what people are not getting. I like Butler, but he is NOT a superstar that some people are making him out to be that will instantly propel us over the Warriors while costing us two HUGE pieces that were instrumental against he Warriors.
Bro... you think Paul/Butler/Harden/Ennis/Capela isn’t an upgrade over what the Rockets ran out there last year... you are the one living in la la land. Butler is one of the 5 best two way players in the NBA. He would improve the Rockets offense AND defense with numerous options left to add a role playing 4. Not that it matters, because the Rockets have like a 5% chance of adding Butler anyway.
Yeah I don’t know which side I’m on in this discussion. EG AND PJ?? That’s losing a lot. It also lessens our depth and Jimmy along with Paul can both get hurt. Having said that, the stuff I love about PJ, his toughness, his defense, his passion, his work ethic; that all comes with Jimmy along with a lot more skill. EG. Man he has had some really good moments with us; his scoring and shooting was as consistent as one can hope for a player not considered a star. You know what; as long as he doesn’t go to a top team it won’t sting much. But I really do think Toronto will scoop him up and that is a nightmare for me

If this is true the Clips can and most definitely should get this done ASAP. While I would say for most teams they’d be better off waiting for next summer to sign him, the Clips are not a franchise that should take that risk. If Jerry West wants to re-invent the Clips through free agency and trades rather than draft then they’ve gotta get it done.
You dont understand quality depth, the main reason we were running on fumes and why CP got a fatigue injury in the first place. By killing that depth you will be inviting a CP injury even earlier this year.
I feel justified calling BS on the KAT-Butler alleged dispute being the reason he wants out.
